Mickey Rourke as Whiplash:

Pretty cool. Pretty cool indeed.

Whew... I was afraid they'd use something like Whiplash's old costumes, both of which are just bad. I never even knew Whiplash was supposed to be a powerful villain? I just always considered him an idiot with a green ponytail or a reject from a fetish convention. Maybe that's the point though, get beaten down as Whiplash and slowly add more stuff until you end up as something akin to Crimson Dynamo maybe?

On a random note with the Whiplash get up and Russian tattoos, it does seem to indicate the confusion about him playing Crimson Dynamo. It does seem that they are using Whiplash as the main idea but that they're grabbing elements from Crimson Dynamo while they are at it.

Which isn't a big deal considering there have been somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 Crimson Dynamos... O_o

Looks pretty promising at this point.

deano_ue

seems based on whiplash's second more s&m costume

now show me the black widow damn it

That is almost certainly a step towards a full suit of powered armor.  You can see the "exoskeleton" and that chest piece looks vaguely familiar.
"But there's no use crying over every mistake
You just keep on trying 'till you run out of cake
And the science gets done, and you make a neat gun
For the people who are still alive."

Xenolith

Whiplash was never a bad arse, but he could hold his own for 11 pages in the old Tales of Suspense days.

His second costume was the Blacklash look from the '80s.  After that I lost count.

He looks like a complete dork in this costume.  "Arr, I'm a pirate, see me gold tooth and the schooner on me belly."  Still, this may not be his final costume.

Jakew

Well, he's wearing prison gear in that photo, so it looks like Rourke will be "Whiplash" for some sort of military weapon testing program.

I'm assuming he'll be upgraded to Crimson Dynamo armour later in the film.

Rourke's costume looks more like a proto-Omega Red, though.

And yeah, I'm not too sure why the have to combine characters but, let's face it, Whiplash was a pretty C-grade villain in the first place. They were never going to have Iron Man going up against a dude with a steel whip for an entire film, considering Iron Man can take out opponents from miles away.

They're just going to slowly build him a suit throughout the movie, I'm guess. Seems kind of cool.

Hate to burst your bubble but that is just a picture somebody took of Mickey Rourke coming out of a supermarket, that is just another one of his outfits.

^_^

I'm not really sure how I feel about this costume.....I'm looking forward to this movie though.  I have faith that they'll pull something good out.  Crimson Dynamo is definitely the kind of villain I want to see mixing it up.

Whiplash IS an idiot. But he is dangerous enough to make a sometimes worthy opponent.

lugaru

Glad to see her excape from the clutches of woody allen long enough to do a superhero movie. I think she is a great black widow, I honestly cant wait.

docdelorean88

She looks amazing! This is gonna be one heck of a sequel(fingers crossed).

That's just not fair. I won't be able to pay attention to the plot..or any dialogue.

thalaw2

She doesn't quite do it for me.  A little too much makeup and too much hair (what looks fake).

She'll do Ok. No Milla Jovovich but she'll do.

Dude...

... she has the bracelets.

Awesome.

She looks pretty good, I'd say. I'd have to see more to make a better assessment. Her hair looks kind of nappy though, and she seems kind of stout.

From Ghost World to Lost In Translation to The Prestige, I think Johansson is a real talent. Even in movies which I thought were unimpressive (e.g. The Spirit), it would be hard to fault her acting.

Yeah but I think he meant live action films.
I kid!
I apologize in advance for everything I say on here. I regret it immediately after clicking post.

Well really, of the comic movies out in the last four or five years, I think I've liked most of them and loved a lot of them.  The only exceptions (of the ones I've seen) being Superman, really.  There are a few that I was disappointed in (DK, Fantastic Four 1&2, X-Men 3), but I still enjoyed them.  I loved unreservedly Iron Man, Hulk, Batman Begins, X-Men 1&2, and Spiderman 1-3.

I enjoyed Daredevil (although it certainly has its flaws), but I haven't seen the others....I probably WOULD have a fit if I watched Catwoman.  I want to see that new Punisher eventually.  Heck, I even enjoyed Ghost Rider.

I liked daredevil but I doubt many other people did, it has to do with being a huge daredevil fan though. I also enjoyed War Zone but It is more of a slasher movie than an action one. Still I think a sequel with the same director and actor would probably be better, so I hope it happens. Ghost Rider, like Constantine, where bad but enjoyable... like "I give it 1 star but if it is on TV I'll watch it again"

Catwoman was awful, but it spawned some great promo shots of Hale Berry in that outfit.
