Here are a few random thoughts about the last few episodes:
Spoiler

  • Your life must really suck if you envy being a cricket.
  • Interesting how they tied Geppetto to Jimminy.  Also adds a new wrinkle to Pinocchio's creation.
  • Dr. Hopper's story is the first flashback that hasn't been in direct linear regression.  I think.
  • Also, interesting to note what's UNDER Storybrooke.
  • Prince Charming in the Real World is a bit of a jerk
  • Rumpelstiltskin has been in the baby brokering business for quite a while
  • Who knew sheepherding could prepare you for Dragon slaying?
  • The tv listing synopses for the latest episode (featuring the huntsman) was very misleading, saying "someone dies and someone starts remembering" (implying separate people).  I figured out the error about 15 minutes into the show when a dead body hadn't turned up.
  • Awww... I was getting to like the Sheriff.  :(
  • RE: Cat's observation about the Queen - She knew he didn't like people, she never thought about honor because she doesn't have any herself.  Besides, she already has a pretty bad track record in the "far-thinking" department.
  • Nice touch using the same box design as the one from the animated Snow White.
  • Kisses have always had magic powers in stories, so makes sense that it would work here.  Personally, I think there's going to be other ways to bring back the memories to people to avoid the whole awkward factor in the long run.
  • So the Heart Vault survived the curse.  I wonder who else she's got tucked away in there?
  • What WAS Mr. Gold burying in the middle of the night?

On the whole Snow White vs the Queen thing, here's what we know...

  • The Queen lost someone she was very close to.
  • That person is presumed dead
  • That person was male
  • It was NOT her father, nor Snow White's dad, who she married as part of her revenge scheme.
  • The Queen thinks Snow White is responsible
  • So does Snow White, and she felt really guilty about it
  • It involved a secret Snow White blabbed somehow, and that lead to the aforementioned death
Methinks that the secret turned out to be a way to kill the mystery man in this scenario.  There's a fairy tale (well, actually a couple, there are many variations on the theme) where there is some kind of nigh-immortal being who keeps his heart someplace secret and out of the way, and as long as it's intact, he lives.  Usually the hero tricks someone close to him to reveal where the heart is, goes and gets it, and usually ends up destroying it, and by extension, the nigh-immortal being.  Could be Snow was a pawn by aforementioned hero to get said information.  Of course, this is my theory so I could be completely off.

I also found it interesting that by creating a world where no one else could be happy, she essentially created a world where she couldn't be happy either, since as Emma noted, everyone else is turning away from her in their misery.  She only has one friend and that only recently.  She really doesn't think very far ahead.

I'm really expecting her to turn out to be just another pawn.  She may even do a heal face turn at some point.

I fully expect ol Rumpy to be the real villain here, and I also suspect that they whole curse was really his idea.  He after all is the one person to actually appear to have everything he wants in the current world.

It also occurred to me that

Spoiler
With Graham's death, does that mean Emma's the new sheriff?  If so, queenie really wasn't thinking this through.

I've said from the getgo that I think Rumpy seems to be wielding more power than The Queen/Mayor.  I think you're right that she is a pawn but I am not sure she is Rumpy's pawn.  I don't expect a "heel to face" turn out of her though.  Like Rumpy, she is both a creature of habit.  She is also bound by her own nature, if she does otherwise then she isn't herself.

I think Rumpy is going to be a bigger villain but I suspect that Rumpy might be beholden to something.  I think (and hope) the writers are only beginning to weave their tangled web.

Next episode is supposed to go into Rumpy's origin, so we may learn more then.  Too bad we have to wait a while.

Anyone still watching Grimm?  My wife and I have just gotten into it, and we're watching our way through the 2nd season.  We've seen the last few episodes and are now starting over at the beginning of the season.  We've been enjoying it quite a bit.  It's clever, interesting, and has lots of twists and turns, plus decent effects and action.  Lady Grey and I have been looking for a show along these lines, having tried out several much less polished and all-around lower quality shows like Eureka and Warehouse 13, so we're pretty excited to find this one.

What do y'all think?

Mega bump heh.

But yeah, if you read some of my earlier stuff on Grimm, I mentioned a few issues, mostly the separation of the supporting cast, many of whom had to be kept away from the monster stuff.  Well, the people behind the show apparently thought the same things, because all of those issues have since been resolved and the second season of the show has been even more fun than before.

Looking back at my posts about Once Upon a Time, it amuses me how I made a bunch of predictions I don't even remember making, most of which have since turned out true.

Haha, yeah, but I sorta' felt like it didn't really merit a new thread if there was one existing already.

Anyway, I'm glad I'm not the only one enjoying this.  Yeah, since we're just watching the second season, we're seeing everybody getting clued in.  I bet that would have been somewhat frustrating in the first season.  What's driving us nuts is the whole:

amnesiac girlfriend thing.  We're very ready for her to get her memory back in the third season.

Well, only half of season 2 has aired, so I expect that to be resolved this season, actually.

Personally, the partner learning that truth was a brilliant move as it ended all the awkwardness of trying to separate the episode/characters into two different parts.

RE: the Horrible Place

Well, they are in Maine.  One of my friends refers to it at the worst place he's ever lived so maybe they're onto something ;).

I've lived in Maine all my life and while there are some aspects that I like about it, I still agree with your friend (IMHO)...Haha!
