I hadn't thought of the Inhumans, but that's a pretty good possibility there.

If Sky is...
Spoiler
actually Carol Danvers or becomes Ms./Captain Marvel, I will weep bitter salty tears.  What a waste of a character who should be getting her own movie.

I daresay this is more what people had in mind for the show, and I really liked seeing more minor characters getting their due.  Also couldn't help but notice the Kree getting name dropped there.

EDIT:  I was just reading that a recent Marvel one shot released with Thor 2 has reconned Iron Man 2's Mandaran to have stolen the real one's name.  The really Mandaran exists in the Marvel universe and may show up in the series.  This I would like.

Okay, now after reading spoilers for Captain America 2, I'm wondering what that will mean for the show, I mean with

Spoiler
SHIELD being disolved

and all.

It does perhaps shed some light on current events though.  My guess is that

Spoiler
Clairvoyant/Victoria Hand is a HYDRA agent as well, which only makes sense now.

What this will mean for the team, however, I can't yet guess.

I was wondering about this after seeing Cap 2 as well.  Next week's episode:
Spoiler
the team hands out resumes, and Fitz gets an interview at an Apple store.

MJB

After watching this weeks episode right before seeing Cap 2 I'm finally excited to watch this show. It's been just OK so far & last episode seems to tie into Cap 2 wonderfully. Can't wait for Tuesday to get here!

Podmark

I quite liked this week's episode. Maybe my brain was on cruise control but there were a number of twists that I didn't really see coming.

What I like most about it is that the current story line can stand on it's own and it could be integrated with the Marvels movies, which in this case it did with the Captain America movie

Loved the twists and turns that came with this weeks episode. I even loved the change in the shows logo to the Hydra symbol during some of the commercial breaks.

Looks like the next 5 episodes will deal with Colsen's team doing status checks on SHIELD's remaining assets and investigating who the Clairvoyant/Deathlok connection is with HYDRA. Not to mention that we get to follow what is going on with Hydra now that all of their plans with taking over SHIELD have failed.

Spoiler
I'm still taking bets that the Clairvoyant is Arnim Zola's AI and/or his algorithm this whole time and the season cliffhanger will be them finding Zola's new body.

Starman

If Garrett ripped open his shirt to reveal a steel torso and Zola's face on a monitor on his stomach ala Krang from TMNT ... I would laugh.

I'm interested to see how this show does "The Cube" but, tbh, this show has taken waaaaaay too long to become kind of interesting.

JeyNyce

This is just a theory, but I think the reason why it took so long for the show to pick up is because they had it timed with the movies.  If you haven't seen the movies, then the show with be a semi-spoiler for the movies.  They are trying to keep everything happening "around" the same time.  It's like having one big story line running through the shows and the movies, a huge cinematic comic

I only watched like 2-3 episodes, and frankly you can barely tell its in Marvell universe.IMO they could have used that licence a lot better.

Actually, they've done a pretty excellent job tying it into the universe.  Cap 2's now turned the whole show on it's head and it's a better show because of it.

Maybe Ill check it out.Do any superheroes actually appear in the show?

It's not superhero show, it's a SHIELD show.  There are several villains that appear and Sif from Thor makes a guest appearance, but it's not really about superheroes.  It's a look at how an law enformcement organization deals with a world of heroes and villains.  If you didn't like earlier episodes, but have seen Captain America 2, a good place to jump back in would be the last couple of episodes, which complement that movie quite well.

Dont know, when i hear Marvel, first thing that comes to my mind is Spidey,Wolverin,Fantastic Four and not Nick Fury.Dont get me wrong Nick is cool and all,but he isnt a big name.I know, the show is about SHIELD and not superheroes but it could have been an opportunity to introduce a bunch of A and B list charachters to movie universe, but we got Coulson.

*sigh* Spade, please go back and read the rest of this thread, we've all had the "I wish Agents catered to who I want to see" discussion already. You might have only seen three episodes, but everyone else is on episode 18, and we were talking about Deathlock, the alien body that had something to do with Coulson's resurrection, the recent Hydra invasion, the fact a main cast member might be a traitor... We're all basically past this. If you want to continue complaining about an opinion you made after seeing 3 episodes of a 22 episode season, please do it someplace else.

HarryTrotter

I wasnt complaining, and I said I only watched a few episodes so I cant judge the whole show. But ok,not important, see ya later and all that.

'Mato, no need to be rude, dude. :P

Spade, yeah, you're not alone.  There are a lot of folks who would like to see more super characters on the show, but it seems that is not what SHIELD is about.  You will certainly enjoy it more if you approach it without expecting to see a lot of four color glory in its episodes.  Still, your mileage may vary.

For my part, the show has certainly gotten better after Cap, but it still feels weak overall.  It's just...sorta' corny, I suppose.  One thing has occurred to me with these last few episodes:
Spoiler
If they try to do a redemption story with Ward, I maybe be out.  He's too far down the rabbit hole.  He's shot the dog at this point, and I don't want to see some type of 'ohh no, suddenly I regret betraying my friends, my oath, and murdering tons of people in cold blood!' kind of story with him.  If he pulls a Vader and dies in the attempt, I could probably stomach it, but he's a villain through-and-through at this point to me.

It seems to me that
Spoiler
they are setting Triplett up to replace Ward.  I don't see him just joining the team again and expect that Triplett's been set up to be his replacement from the time he was introduced.  Now, he's suddenly joined the team at the exact same time that Ward has left to do evil things.  I do not consider this a coincidence.

Glitch Girl

Spoiler
I MUCH prefer Evil Ward to Good Ward.  No redemption I say!

By making Ward villainous you get an adversary who knows just about everything about the team, even after his deception is discovered.  It also makes some of his previous actions much more interesting in restrospect.

Spoiler
I think they're setting him up for a sort of Vader moment, myself. He's clearly beyond redemption with his actions, and they've made it clear in the script that he has no real loyalty to Coulson or the others. I think it's being set up for him to go completely evil, but then give his life saving Skye. As cat points out, Triplett is already replacing him in the team dynamic... and frankly, is a much more interesting character than "good" Ward was.

JeyNyce

Here's a long shot, but what are the chances of Ward becoming a minor marvel villain?  I'm think with all that training and skills he have plus the connection the show have with the Avengers, he could be Taskmaster or some other villain.  What do you guys think?

Careful JeyNyce...

Spoiler
But on a serious note... it could be. I doubt it would be an B-lister like Taskmaster (they may not wanna waste him on Agents) but someone at the same level as Graviton or Deathlock is certainly possible.

River may be pretty, but she'll also kick your rear end six ways without breaking a sweat if you keep putting spoilers outside of spoiler tags.  Just saying.

Anyhow, just finished this weeks episode.  No huge revelations, but we finally meet that Cellist Coulson mentioned back in the Avengers.  And Marvel Cinemaverse Blackout too.  Also, Triplett is the grandson of Gabe Jones, apparently.

Spoiler
Sky now knows about Ward, but is basically his captive as this point, while pretending that she doesn't know it.  Triplett's being the grandson of one of the movie characters is further a sign that he's replacing Ward, not that I think anyone should doubt that at this point.

Anyone have any idea who the teleporting, antique gun-using character that shot someone in Morocco was? It was mentioned while they are scanning for "gifted" activity.

I was thinking maybe Paladin (his stun guns are designed on older pistols) but I guess I need to dig out my old Marvel Universe Encyclopedias.

Now THAT was a good episode.  This show is definitely getting better.  My wife, who has been ambivalent to outright hostile (when it comes to Sky) watched with rapt attention this week.  She usually has her head buried in her iPad, finding the show boring.  I'm really hopeful that they'll be able to stick with this level of quality and hold her interest!

Another good one here

Spoiler
The team does not pick up the idiot ball like characters on other shows would.  Instead of not figuring out the obvious to have more drama, they immediately realize Ward is evil and act accordingly.  Lots of drama to be had for sure, but it all actually made sense.  I also love the scene with Lola.  Sky just doesn't get the implications of a flying car while Coulson instantly does.

Also we finally find out who was running TAHITI--and it's Coulson himself!  It was intended to be used to save the Avengers in case one of them were killed but it drove the test subjects nuts, which is why all the elaborate precautions were made.  The also explains Coulson begging to be allowed to die--since he knew he'd be pretty much lost anyways.

It's becoming clear now that much of this was planned for the start, but unfortunately the boring stuff that they have since twisted around have already turned a lot of people off who took it all for face value.  Too bad, because the show's now pretty good and the early episodes are now put in an entirely new light.
