Haha, ohh man Hoss, what a lovely surprise!  I'm reading the original Nova books, and I just came across Diamond head recently and was thinking I'd like to throw him against the his nemesis.  This skope and skin are just so cool!  Diamondhead looks appropriately buff, and I love that grimace on his face.  The skin itself is really bright and clean.  This is a great piece, Hoss! :D  Depending on how things shake out, this fellow may very well make an appearance in the next iteration of Marvel Adventures!

Benton, that's exactly my case. I read Nova #3 yesterday. Vintage stuff is always entertaining. I loved the issue! I can send you the diamondhead hero file i made after reading the comic if you need any ideas about DH.

Benton, I'm glad you like him. I think some of my best stuff always seems to come from characters that either you or Laughing Paradox are looking for.

BentonGrey

Haha, well that works out well for me! :D

I think bobby69/vertex had one, as well.  Maybe two.  One was vx mesh?  I can't be sure anymore.

Nice job, Hoss!

The skin by Voodoo-Chemist was made to go on male_crystal69 by Bobby69...and thanks, Xenolith.

Xenolith

I first read this thread on my phone and missed that BigD already mentioned the Bobby69 mesh.  Sorry I piped up for no reason!

hoss20

Ah, no worries. I had actually originally thrown the skin on Gren's Martinex just to see how it would look before I downloaded the Bobby69 mesh. I just went with Martinex because he was a bit more bulky.

So gents, I'm thinking of a Gambit side mission for MA involving a group of villains hunting him for the Assassins' Guild.  The trouble is, I need some assassins to fill out the roster.  I have a few ideas, but I'd also like suggestions.  First, what do we have available for:

  • Boomerang
  • Bullseye
  • Domino
  • Zaran

I'm mostly looking for second and third stringer villains.

On another note, I have a skoping request.  Can anyone give  AA's Mystique skope a grenade throw animation?

Thanks guys!

You'll probably want to nix Domino. Sure, she doubles as a mercenary or assassin here and there, but her main occupation is as a member of X-Force and, more recently, the X-Men. In other words, you'd be having Domino running a hit on a fellow teammate. Just felt I should point that out.

A fair point, Kk, but Domino always made more sense to me as a villain, and I don't care too much for 90s X books, outside of the Animated Series:)  If I can find some good replacements for her, I'll nix her.

She didn't join the X-Men until the late 2000's. Unless you were counting the 2000's books as well?

Well, it's all one to me, my friend.  I don't think I've read a single Marvel book (other than the Adventures line) after the 90s.  So, she's outside of my area of experience.  My only real exposure to her is from Age of Apocalypse (read in TPB), and Wolverine and the X-Men.  She just looks like a villain to me. :)

1.Glad you read AoA. Honestly, I never thought you all of people would read something like that. ;) 2.If you really want to use her as a villain, I'm not stopping you. It's just that, having read a decent amount of material with her, I just can't see her in such a role. (Not unless Legion went back in time and accidentally killed his own father, anyway...)

1) Yeah, dark and gritty though it was, AoA made for a fascinating story and a great elseworlds tale.  The fact that it was alternate reality helped me stomach it, and even still I'm not a fan of the ugliness of it.  Still, it's always neat to see alternate versions of characters you love.

2) I can understand that, but reading about her history, I thought she started out as a violent, murderous mercenary.

1.Yup. It's not pretty, and it's not perfect, but it's still heavily enjoyable, and fascinating to read. I actually prefer AoA Sabretooth over the original, to be honest. ;)

2.Yeah, but it's a bit more complicated then that. Back when Cable first came to the present, he formed a group called the Six Pack, which Domino was a part of. They participated in various mercenary missions with high body-counts, but it was all to track down Cable's deadly clone, Stryfe. Also, most of this was part of Cable's backstory as opposed to actually happening present-tense. When Domino actually showed her face canonically for the first time, it was with Cable as a member of X-Force in the very first issue. (Or rather, in the last few issues of New Mutants, which was when the team transitioned to X-Force.) With X-Force, Cable decided to make an effort to drastically drop the bodycount that his former group Six Pack had, (there were still bodies, but it was nothing compared to his Sixpack days,) and when Domino followed Cable and joined the group, she made that effort as well. She slowly developed over time, and these days, she mainly reserves her shots for foes of the X-Men, outside of occasional sidetrips.

How about this; there's a hit made on Gambit, but whoever nabs him can do so with him either dead or alive. Domino goes after him for the paycheck and the thrills, but intends to keep him alive, figuring he can weasel his own way out of the situation when she's gotten her dough.  Or does that not work for you?

Hey, now that's an excellent idea, KK!  It also adds some personality to the story.  I love it!

What is out there for the Vanisher?

Are there any FX for Toad's tongue attacks?

There are Vanishers here: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Data_Back_Up_Part_3/files/

and here: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/jkcfreedomforcestuff5/files/Marvel%20Comics/

I haven't checked them out myself, so I don't know if they are the version you are looking for.

For Toad tongue attacks, I am using the venom_tongue FX. I can't remember where I found it, though. There may be more than one. I'll have to check.

I'll take a look at the Mystique grenade animation.

Cyber Burn

I'm a little late to the conversation, but I would say that if a hit is being placed on someone, and you want multiple people to attack, I think an established team may work a little better.

You mentioned Boomerang, so maybe the "Sinister Syndicate"?

Or with Zaran, maybe "Batroc's Brigade"?

Though for my first choice, I was actually thinking about the original "Marauders".

Didn't it turn out that Domino was being impersonated by Copycat in those early stories? Seem to recall something like that.

Yeah, but when the real Domino finally showed up, she pretty much had the same backstory that I just described.

Here's another question, folks:  What skin/mesh combo would make effective flame minions for Pyro?

Thanks Hoss!  One of those was the classic version, a nice skin of it too.  I haven't decided which version I want to use yet, so I thought I'd look around a bit.

Thanks CB, but I want to make this specifically a group working for the Assassins' Guild to tie this story into Gambit's past.  For that reason I want to avoid any easily recognizable teams.  I'm more interested in second stringers who can be thrown into a mix than an independent team.  I want a bunch of individuals, not really working together.

Pod, I was actually trying to figure out where I could find those Vanishers of yours.  I remembered you previewing them.  I thought that they looked really interesting.

Ahhh, gotcha. In that case, I would look at:

Shocker
Bullseye
Arcade
Mysterio
Sabretooth

I think that gives you a pretty balanced team power/skill wise. I wanted to add a tank type character as well, but couldn't decide on which one.
