This is it guy we have all our entrants and the judges have been selected, this is the thread where you will post your finished assignments, which will have been chosen by the judges

the rules

• each pair will be assigned a character and mesh for that round,
• now the catch if the character has multiple costumes, if you can skin them to the assigned mesh then you have choice in costumes
• if the mesh has hidden items then you can hex but no skoping.
• if you win you will progress to the next round of the tournament where you will be given a character
• characters will be randomly drawn from all sources including avatars
• all entrys must be new work, if you've skinned the character before you may use elements like extras but the skin but be 90% new work, if questioned you may be asked to show comparison picks
• you will be given a week's deadline from the day you are given the assignment, so if you get it on a tuesday you have 2 weeks to to complete the skin and get it to the judges, if you miss the deadline you are disqualified and your opponent is give a bia to the next round.
• if both entrys miss the deadline then both are out of the contest
• there will be no excuses, but with exception, if something serious in real life happens we're not gonna be heartless
• the final image must be posted in this thread, no works in progess.
• the final image must contain a front, side and back view of the skin

now onto judging and marking, the easyiest was to do this is with a group of 3 judges,

• a judge will mark each entry out of 10 and average of the 3 will be your final score.
  e.g if judge A marks an entry 6, judge B marks it 8 and judge C marks it 4, making 18/30 so 18 divided 3 so the final score is 6/10
• now a judge can enter the competition his/her self, but they can not mark there own work. to combat this the other two judges will mark the skin out of 20 and divide the total by 2 instead of 3
• what the judges are looking for are
  
• faithfulness to the source
• use of techniques
• skill of the artist


• the judges will each assign the characters



• The prize for the winner will be a selection of they're skins hosted on hero force, along with a profile and the right to be classed as the skin off champion until the next contest

I need  some clarification on this.  Is it two weeks or one?  If it's one, you should disqualify me now because there isn't any way I can skin something in a week.  Two weeks is reasonable.

it's a fortnight, and the match ups are random, hopefully you should all receive assignments some time soon, i don't want to put all the pressure on the judges, but i also don't want to put out the assignments myself as i have entered and don't want to seem like i'm trying to play favourites

the judges have made they're choice of meshes and characters, and the pm's have been sent. hopefully everyone got them if they didn't pm me

OK... had a slight mix up on who and how the contestants where going to be given thier assignments.   

Yeah... we did the...

"Did you do that?"

We're going to let it be a surprise to see who got what skins/meshes to work with... and who they were going against.  But I will tell you the characters which will be skinned in the 1st round.

Wolverine, Green Arrow, US Agent, Captain Marvel, Luke Cage and Black Hand

We purposely tried to stay consistent with both the complexity of the skins and the mapping/style of the meshes themselves.   Will likely follow a similar pattern in the future as well.  I just don't want any mesher to feel slighted.  It just didn't seam fair in the early stages to use meshes which had distinct mapping vs. others.

to clarify some questions i've been asked

how you produce the skin is entirely up to you, you can use c6 base, gryphon base your own whatever. the basis of this contest to to challenge your own level within a set brief.

also i want to bring up does anyone have a problem with myself entering the contest, if there is i'm stepping to one side. I have no control over anything apart from sending out pm's. the judges pick the characters, meshes and the assignments, but i don't want to cause problems or crap. the last thing this board needs is more whispering behind backs and conspiracy theories

You started the tread because you thought the challenges were fun. You aren't a judge. This way, you get to participate also. Everybody gets to have fun. What could possibly be wrong with that?
