Mystical shields

I would like to know how you solve the topic of the magic beams and especially the mystical shields of the Doctor Strange and company.

For magic beams I use FFX to swap Hex with mental damage. That way I get a damaging attack that is affected by the targets resistance to mystical stuff.
As far as a shield, I just use an active or passive defense and set the defense flags to mystical and whatever else is appropriate.
