I'm not really sure on favorite heros and villains(other than Victor von Doom), my faves are usually characters that aren't clearly on one side. Such as Aubrey Sparks(mostly in Superman/JLA comics), and the modern Acolytes(Xmen). The guys who've written the Acolytes most recently have done a good job of writing them as non-hero, non-villain characters.
