After over a decade and unlike GnR's Chinese Democracy, it appears that the Duke's return has finally been cancelled for good.  3D Realms, the creator of Duke and his long developed game that has been the butt of many MANY jokes is closing it's doors.

I admit, I never thought the game would see the light of day, but I didn't expect it to go out this way.  Still, the parent company says it's retaining rights to the title, so who knows.

I find that mildly upsetting... in a perfect world every game (including bad ones) should get published. Also I played 3d a bit back in the day and I would have loved to play Forever, even if it is just for an hour or two until the novelty wore off.

Still I feel that a 4 person mod team could have built the game by now...
