Batman: Arkham City

I loved the first game, it might be my definitive Batman experience.
With the new game being set in Gotham I hope they work in some more of the Bat-family, like Nightwing, Robin, and Batgirl, even if they are just cameos.

Benton... given your love of btas, the fact that you haven't at least tried out AA is depressing... the game really captures so much of what the series got right, with maybe a bit more darkness because Joker is allowed to kill people.

I'm afraid, gentlemen, that it has everything to do with funds and nothing to do with inclination.  I've really wanted to get this game, simply haven't managed to afford it.  It is at the top of my list, however.  I imagine I'm more enthusiastic about good Batman games than most.

Omgggg so psyched. Arkham Asylum was one of my favorite video game experiences in a LONG time and arguably one of my very favorite superhero videogame experiences. It just felt so RIGHT.

Now it seems like this is gonna be even MORE right. gimmegimmegimmegimmegimmee.

I'm just hoping for more Riddler. *crosses fingers* -one of my favorite characters in all of comicdom.

Oracle works better in the capacity she had in the first game, looking up information for Bruce while he's on the job. I'd work in Alfred in a role that fits his strengths too.

I hope we actually get to meet the characters this time rather than just hearing them. Like meeting Alfred when Bruce is at the Batcave, and if Oracle has been captured then rescuing her at some point in the game.

It's already been confirmed that Robin's been in this one, so speculation is that you'll be able to play Robin in coop multiplayer.

I'm hoping for full campaign co-op this time around. I would love to see them have a character selection screen of the Batman family to choose from. Having your choice of Batman, Robin/Red Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl/Batwoman, and Huntress to play through the game would be pretty sweet. Wishful thinking though.

If we can have wishful thinking, I'm hoping for more Batsuits this time around. I loooove being able to select multiple costumes. Hell, if each one gave you different stats and abilities, that would be even better...

actually, it could be interesting if done right.  

the golden age batsuit.  (Grey with the small bat emblem.  the cowl with ears that pointed somewhat at an angle)

the grey suit with the blue cape, cowl, gloves and boots and yellow oval with black bat on it..  (believe its from the 60s/70s era).  

black suit with yellow and black emblem (the 1998 bat suit essentially)

the suit black emblem.  blue cape, cowl, gloves boots (believe its the current but may not be)

the TAS (complete with the overly jagged, almost box looking lines)

the batman begins and TDK suits

the suit from the first game (which is slightly battledamaged but is otherwise the same grey suit with black emblem.)

and the armored suit from the first game

now rather or now those suits should have special abilities...  preferably not though you might could argue that some of the costumes would have an armor or health bonus of some sort.

Okay, maybe as add-ons, nothing too serious like "You need this suit to complete this mission" type stuff.  Also I remember the demo for the first game somebody added a text mod so you could change his outfits.

Like I said, if done right.  The "you need this suit to complete this mission" type stuff is not doing it right nor does it fit with the game.  I think the alternate skins in the challenge mode would be great though.  And it might make sense if they added a multiplayer too.  However, I am cringing at the thought of any kind of "multiplayer" mode in this game.  I could be wrong but I just don't think it would do anything except kill the game.  There are better things they could focus on.

Awesome, although Catwoman would be nice, I`d rather have Robin or Nightwing instead.

I'm going to be disappointed if Nightwing and Robin aren't in the game to some degree. I was disappointed when the first game didn't have bios for either of them or other prominent Bat characters like Batgirl and Spoiler.

I'd love a classic version of the Bat family to show up...which isn't going to happen...but I hope that if they DO put in Nightwing (which seems girmly inevitable to me), I at least won't be forced to use or interact with the character.  I do really hope that you can team up with Robin, though.  I can always just pretend it's the real Robin.

Sweet find! This game looks great.
Not totally sold on Harley's look, it's the face. I saw a pic from the back of her that made me think she looked like Sin in Brubaker's Cap and the front holds up to that belief.
