I'm not sure where to put hero recipes for 3rd Reich?  I just installed it and there is no "heroes" folder like in the old FF.

Also how would i associate a hero file i downloaded with a mesh i downloaded?

There is supposed to be 100's of recipes here
http://www.alexff.com/recipes.php
but i only see like 30+ ?  Am i not going to the right place?

Thanks

The herofiles are in a different place for  :ffvstr:.

document and settings\*YOUR WINDOWS ACCOUNT NAME*\local settings\application data\irrational games\

As for hero recipes, I'll have to let someone else help. I don't have the websites on hand to post some links.

Thanks i found it...what is a .py file?  I saw a .hero and .py file in there for the preinstalled "Slowball" character.  When i made my own hero file for a character it didn't generate a .py file.

THanks

.py files are python computer language and are used by Freedom Force X, the player created expansion for Freedom Force. As such, the game does not generate python files for heroes. The Freedom Force X Control Center will generate a python file for customized FFX characters - that's how the new attributes and other goodies from FFX are tracked and implemented in-game.

Hi, what exactly is a .bak file?

One of my characters has this:

Captain America.hero.bak

thx

I can't fully explain what they are for but here is the jist of it, they are a backup up hero file of that character.  There is something that changes or fixes a hero file like a melee attack range or something somehow which I don't remember.  And then it creates a back up hero file which is the one before the fix happened.

...and Alex's page is invaluable...and does have in the neighborhood of 30 or so hero recipes. Sadly, many of them are Renegade's skins & meshes & are no longer in existence @ the links he provides. If you're looking for something from Renegade or Renegade's toybox, 1st, check out the Master Mesh List in the Skins & Meshes group, poke around w/ the search utility for the package you need, & then ask around. Thankfully, most folks will have the skin/mesh you need. I mean, hey, you can even find Iron Spiderman & Beta Ray Bill up in here!  :)
