Hi, I'm looking for an official .max file for any generic guy to rig, I found this: https://archive.org/details/official-meshes, but haven't found any generic guy.
I also wonder who is the best generic guy to rig, and if loading the male_basic nif and rigging a model via this imported .nif will do for FFV3R.

I've worked a little with Max but prefer Blender for rigging.

I put a male_basic with its max file on my mega site under requests - it has a few skins with it.

My mega site is here - https://mega.nz/folder/bxoATQBA#zhsyE8hp1uwMeDk7r17BcQ

Sorry for the bump, does anyone knows how to export with 3ds max using a .max file meant to be exported for Freedom Force?
I tried exporting a .nif, success, but can't export correctly the .kf file when I tried to export a single .kf without .nif, it says invalid export option.

I think I'm supposed to use an exporter for Max 4.2, and specifically for Freedom Force (Freedom Force Exporter v4.0.1?), but I only have FFVT3R_Exporter_Max51CS4 exporter: http://www.freedomreborn.net/forums/index.php?topic=57419.msg778809#msg778809

EDIT: found it: https://archive.org/details/freedom-force-demos-tools

unless your running windows XP or lower the script files will not work.. those scripts are for 3dmax4 and 5..
you get a Cdilla CODE error using 3dmax4 and 5 with windows 7 and 10
pull out a old p.c. or laptop if you still have one 3dmax4 and 5 is easy to get now free!!  :D

these are all scripts needed >> https://imgur.com/rKVZY6k

As someone with a newer pc, you can also use a virtual pc with xp. There's one that comes with or is available for free on modern versions of windows but I'm not at my comp to look it up.

thank you .. and yes i got those pluggins.. well appreciated  ^_^
the issue im having is that freedom force 1/2 irrational games has 3d max 4/5 character studio scripts..  :(
nifskope only created import and export nif/kf files pluggins..  not for animating  :banghead:
tomato should understand what im trying to say.. but tomorrow hopefully it works out..
thanks for the help really :)

Oh - understood. Inever did too much with animations either with Max or Blender - just converting them from other games into something FF2 could use.

Now, SA has found out how to do new animations from nifskope itself. He did the animation below in nifskope, I think from scratch.

It goes without saying I'm sure that the Exodus keyframes can be used for Cordless as well and likewise any missing string names need to be added to the keyframes. But the other method will save you every headache in the long run. It's kind of simple, whatever mb based nif and keys came "after" mb itself so mb having come "before" has no issues when anything is copied to it. So for example you shove TM and DS animations and so on into an mb nif and keyframe set without any issues so long as you add the required nodes.

And again it's better for making custom animations. I went into that in the What Have You Skoped Thread a bit, I think while you were offline. The tutorial image links need to be updated and I will otherwise do a full tutorial on how to use Nifskope alone to make any animation you can think of. It's very useful to know how to do, another thing it took me ages to figure out.
