Running FFv3R on Windows 10 using CD install

Hey everyone, I'm going to ask the question perhaps everyone dreads: how do you get FFv3R (or even FF) to play on Windows 10?  I'm installing off the CDs. 
I can play it on my old XP laptop, but when I try to install it on my Yoga 920 with Windows 10....nothing.  I've even tried the compatibility mode, to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Okay, this may not be your situation, but I can't get either game to work anymore because of memory problems.

Well amazingly, I somehow got FFv3R to install!  (That was the initial problem) and it's running!

Just wish I could get the old FF to run on my Yoga 920...

  is way more tricky on 10, but my advice to you would be to buy a digital version (I think GOG is slightly more stable than Steam, but both should work).  Then, just run in compatibility mode.
