Howdy guys, I'm working on a mission that will see the Avengers go up against the entire Squadron Supreme roster, and I need your help!  Most of the team will be present as allies, but the player will have control of 4 of the core members.  Help me decide which heroes should get that honor!  Please choose the four heroes you would like to control in such a melee.  I'll take the four with the most votes as the team for this mission.

I want to pit the core Avengers against this ersatz Satellite Era Justice League, 12 on each team.  1-10 of the Avengers options are those I consider the core team members, but I want an even fight, so I also have to choose an 11th and 12th Avenger to take the stage during this fight.  Who should that be?  Wonder Man, Hercules, Black Widow, or Black Knight?  Someone else?  Who is the next most central Avenger after those first ten?

This sounds soooo cool!  A match-up I've been dreaming of, done by Benton, no doubt!

So many choices.  If I were to choose, I wouldn't want only the strongest Avengers; I want a challenge!

I was considering Vision, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, and Captain America.  That would give a rather rounded team for the player to control without too many of the "heavy" hitters being under the player's control.  But I would also enjoy playing as one of the "non-core" Avengers, too.  Wonder Man would be fun to try, as would Black Knight.  Maybe Hercules so that the player can see who can defeat more, Herc or Thor :P

I'll have to think about this some more, but this sounds like a fun fight!

I agree, this is a tough call, definitely need time to think on this one.

Vote now!  Now!

Just kidding, y'all have plenty of time.  :D

Unfortunately i am biased so i selected my favourite ones. Thor, Vision, Scarlet Witch and of course Cap. Vision/Thor combo might be too much but Hyperior/Power Princess will give them a run for their money. Wanda has some neat crowd control abilities and Cap...is Cap  :D

I'm just mad that you didn't put She-Hulk.  What do you have against tall green beautiful women?

For my money, the 'core' Avengers over the years have been Captain America, Iron-Man, Thor, Hank Pym, The Wasp, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Quicksilver, Hawkeye, Wonder Man, Black Panther, Carol Danvers (Ms.Marvel/Captain Marvel,), She Hulk, Black Widow, Black Knight, Hercules and, thanks to having another 5-year stint in recent years, Beast. Granted, it's a large group, but then, so was the Satellite JLA team, which had, what, 16 active members by the end of it? As for the two extra ones you want to add on, I'd go with Wonder Man, as to me, he's just as much a classic member as the twins or the Vision, and Hercules, because if you're going up against the Squadron Supreme, then who better to even the odds than the Prince of Power?

Anyway, I picked Captain America, Thor, Iron-Man and Hank; four of the core-est of core members, while still making for a powerful and varied team.

Benton, I actually have a list of the number of appearances for each Avenger from Volume I through Volume III which ended in Avengers Disassembled. I know this is pretty much the era that you concentrate on, so I thought this might help a bit in making your list. I'd be happy to post, maybe the top twenty here; just for reference. It may help in this scenario or perhaps another where you are trying to figure out which Avengers to plug in.

Podmark

I picked...
Cap - because to me he is the Avengers
Thor - because you need a powerhouse
GiAnt-Man - because he's a fav and I love that power set visually
Quicksilver - because speedsters are awesome

I also considered Iron Man.

Haha, in general, not a thing!  That's why I asked for folks to make suggestions! :D

Kk, I've only got 12 Squadron Supreme members, so I have to limit the Avengers to the same number.  Good suggestions!

Jim, aren't we all biased? ^_^

Hey Hoss, that sounds cool!  Yeah, please do share that.

Pod, interesting choices.  :)

I wasn't saying that all of these should be the members used in the Campaign; just the ones I consider core members. Wonder Man and Hercules are still the two extra members I'd add on though. And thanks. :)

Thanks for all the responses guys!

It seems that the interesting and slightly surprising line-up of Cap, Iron Man, Thor, and The Scarlet Witch seem to have made the cut.  I'll leave this up a bit longer, so if you haven't voted yet, you still have a chance.  I'll check back before I make a final pass on the mission.

I don't think it's that surprising. After-all, Cap, Iron Man, and Thor are (at least in-universe,) Marvel's 'Big Three'; why wouldn't they make the cut? Scarlet Witch is the one odd man woman out, but she's still a classic member, and her hex powers ought to lend some variety to the line-up. After all, raw power and/or combat ability isn't everything.

In terms of gameplay, those four show a really balanced team, too.
Thor is a tank, Iron Man is Ranged, Cap is a brawler, and Wanda is support.
