I'm surprised that nobody has started a tread regarding news about the unification of the X-Men: First Class and first X-Men trilogy with this epic crossover.

So far our main cast for XM:DOFP is Hugh Jackman (Wolverine/Logan), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Young Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Young Magneto), Patrick Stewart (Old Professor X), Ian McKellen (Old Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Peter Dinklage (Unrevealed), Halle Berry (Storm), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), Daniel Cudmore (Colossus), Omar Sy (Unrevealed), Boo Boo Stewart (Unrevealed), Fan Bingbing (Blink), and others yet to be announced.

Rumors have been flying about who the main villains for the story will be... those who know The Days Of Future Past comic storyline should remember that The Brotherhood Of Evil Mutants try to kill Senator Kelly which results in the launch of Project: Wideawake and the creation of mutant-hunting Sentinels created by a scientist named Bolivar Trask. This creates a new future where Sentinels have gone completely out of control turning the world into a post-Apocalypse wasteland and leaving mutants almost extinct. Story details have been revealed that most of the story flips between the future world and the '70s where President Nixon has been dealing with the mutant menace led by Magneto and Professor X starting mutant relations with his school. Other rumors include that Apocalypse will be the major villain threat in the future world since the X-Men were not around to stop his rise to power and he was too powerful for the Sentinels to handle. It's unknown how time travel will be handled in the storyline since in the original comic Kitty Pryde was sent back into her younger self mentally by Rachel Summers (daughter of Cyclops and Jean Grey) but with the addition of Blink as a cast member other possibilities are presenting themselves.

Bryan Singer has stated in interviews that he realizes Fox's last mutant films (X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine) were mostly disasters in telling a united universe storyline that extended from his first two movies that he directed. Bryan assures fans that he plans to take the best elements from the failed films which he believed worked and then fixing plot points which crashed and burned with fans and critics alike. Singer also assured us that the new costume-like uniforms from First Class will remain and not be replaced with the black leather of the old films and he plans to give each mutants costume a more customized look.

Guess we will have to keep waiting for more announcements since filming begins in the next few months.

UPDATE: Canadian French site La Presse have received word that Moving Picture Company (MPC) (who won an Oscar for their contribution to Life Of Pi) will deploy a team of over 50 employees to Montreal to work on Singer's XM:DOFP movie.

This looks very interesting.  I'm sure some of the original returning cast is going to be little more than cameos; otherwise, that cast is dauntingly big.

Hey, I actually did start a thread last Summer.  I remember the title and thought this was it for a sec actually.

Another major news piece has been released about X-MEN: DOFP..

Fans of X-Men and American Horror Story should be thrilled to know that Evan Peters who is very well known for playing Tate Langdon will be playing Quicksilver (the super speeded mutant and son of Magneto) in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. I loved his performance as Tate, so this should be a great addition to the cast. (http://collider.com/x-men-days-of-future-past-quicksilver-evan-peters/)

And with recent news that Joss Whedon announced his plans for including Quicksilver AND Scarlet Witch as reformed members of the Avengers Initiative in Avengers 2. It's created quite a tangle between FOX and Disney/Marvel Studios over casting not to mention that the brother and sister can't reveal who their father is in Joss's storyline.
