Goku Vs Superman - Next on DEATH BATTLE

So I know watching characters fight to the death isn't really everyone's thing, but... MasakoX as Goku, ItsJustSomeRandomGuy as Superman. I is excited.

Besides, no matter who wins, I'm going to enjoy watching the NERD RAGE across the internet.

Goku can be vulnerable when his guard is down, but he's got that "Hulk" factor where he can keep getting more powerful the angrier and more motivated he becomes, ala the Hulk.

Granted, Superman beat the Hulk in the 1997 Marvel vs DC crossover, but that wasn't quite the "angry Hulk" at full power.

But I'm thinking that Superman will quickly find himself outclassed at Goku keeps ascending to ridiculous new levels of power.

(I'm such a nerd).

That's true, and I was sure Goku would win in a straight up fight, but they started listing some of the stuff he's done... by their calculations, Superman is capable of pulling 66.67 quintillion tons aka a full sized planet out of its orbit. Goku still probably wins, but it'll be closer then most people think.

I saw the first half of the fight and I have to say, I'm extremely excited for this battle.

I'm hoping this one ends in the vein of infamous Superman #75 2-page spread.

And then we get to see both Goku & Supes livin' it up in the AfterLife with a race on Snake Way.  That would be perfect for me.

Kudos to Death Battle for recruiting the best fan-VAs too!

Just watched this today and I really enjoyed it. I'd never watched any of the Death Battles before but I was really impressed with the fight and how they justified the winner.

Yeah, it's a series I've come to enjoy for that very reason... Yeah, it's very violent sometimes (like at the end of the spider-man batman fight) but they have the evidence and thought to back their positions up.

Plus, some of the fights are just hilarious. Rainbow Dash vs Starscream, and Vegeta vs Shadow are both easily in my top twenty online videos.

Woah, it's finally out!?!

yup! it's pretty well researched too!

I'm glad they've really done their homework here,  nobody can really dispute their findings....it's a good way to keep fanboy rage at bay.

It was a great video and I appreciate all the logic behind the fight.

But I think the Death Battle Team probably made a mistake on one point:
Spoiler
Superman DOES have limits, but of the moral kind.  They established that he's more interested in helping people than he is in improving himself.  Thus, it's hard to believe he'd destroy Goku at the cost of the entire planet Earth. (I guess that ending would have made more sense if they had released it on December 21, 2012 as originally intended.)

And I was hoping that, in spite of who won the fight, their good-hearted nature would compel them to wish the other hero back with the Dragon jimmies [BallZ... lol].  Alas, with no more planet Earth, I guess they'd have to travel to New Namek to do that.

True, but Goku falls into that category as well. He'd never allow the Earth and all his friends to be destroyed in a fight like this. So the blow up the Earth part really doesn't work in the context of this fight.

Oops!  Just now noticed that!

Also, good to hear from you, BG, it's been a while!

Err... yeah, the real superman wouldn't blow up the planet to win, but the real Superman (and the real Goku) wouldn't allow the fight to escalate that much to begin with. Just like neither Batman nor Spiderman would ever kill another superhero. They'd find common ground, resolve their differences, and the fight would be over... just like every single superhero crossover fight EVER.

However, the whole POINT of the death battle is that if both heroes were holding nothing back, they decide who would be able to kill the other. Due to the nature of DBZ-level fights, the earth getting destroyed is almost a given... whatever planet they were on would not hold under the strain of their battle.

I guess that's one of the inherent problems I've had with a number of the death battles.  Once you take away certain character's "no-kill" policy, you kinda have something less than the actual character.  Some characters may simply decide not to kill, but for others, it might actually be more of an issue of being mentally unable to go through with it.  Hence, it's an inherent limitation of the character.

Now... maybe I should just go rewatch that TMNT-Battletoads Death Battle again and just enjoy myself.

I really enjoy the live action version of this kind of thing, its produced by Bat in the Sun productions.. the group that does some of the best Batman fan films out there.

Yeah the bookends of the actual fights are pretty trashy, but you can find clips that are only the battles too,
Past episodes:
Batman Vs. Wolverine
Nightwing Vs. Gambit
Gandalf Vs. Darth Vader
Nathan Drake Vs. Lara Croft
