if i were to get 3 52 books, which would you recommend?

It depends on what kind of stories you like to read. For me, I'd go with Animal Man, Swamp Thing, and Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E. OMAC is a close fourth.

Pretty safe to say that you should probably avoid Green Arrow, Hawk & Dove, and Suicide Squad.

I'm actually going to recommend Action Comics.  It's a very different take on Superman compared to anything but the '30s & '40s version of the character, it's written by Grant Morrison, and it isn't full of the sex & ultraviolence of a lot of the new 52.

I'll go ahead and second Action Comics. Personally, I'd also pick up Justice League... it's maybe not the best book, but it is more or less the core title. Green Lantern's good too, it's pretty much the same as it was before the 52 tho

I'm hearing a lot of love for Wonder Woman, the Flash, and Batwoman as well.
