X-Men fans, prepare to make your own destiny.

A new breed of mutant heroes will invade game consoles next fall in "X-Men: Destiny," from Marvel Entertainment and Activision Publishing, Inc. The all-new original video game, developed by Silicon Knights, casts players as new mutant recruits in a rich, branching storyline that features a deep element of choice and gives players ultimate control of their destiny.

Attendees of New York Comic Con, from October 8-10, can get a sneak peek of the game in Activision's booth #1833.  In addition, fans can learn more about the original storyline which is being penned by acclaimed Marvel X-MEN: LEGACY writer Mike Carey, during the Marvel Games Panel on Saturday, October 9, at 10:45 a.m. in Room 1A06.

That's right. As we announced at our video game panel in New York Comic-Con, the classic X-Men Arcade game will be coming to the Sony PlayStation Network as well as the Xbox and Zune Marketplace this fall.

I'm super excited for the X-Men arcade game! I loved it back in the day, just like the old Turtles arcade games and the Simpsons. I love beat-em-ups, lol. What makes this even better is it's an exact port. They aren't redoing the graphics in 3D like they did that crappy Turtles in Time Reshelled remake. It sounds like it's exactly what fans want. Hopefully it supports widescreen, but that's not a big deal really.

XMen Destiny has Silicon Knights behind it, which means it'll probably be awesome, but take forever to come out. These are the same guys behind great games like Eternal Darkness and Legacy of Kain Blood Omen (and the more recent Too Human, and Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes). Hopefully they learned from their mistakes with Too Human, both from a gaming perspective, and a public relations perspective.

What's new in that trailer? It looks like the same one that was available during comic-con that has been on the site (see opening post) for a few weeks now.
