A small part of me just died.

Actually, scratch that. A large part of me just exploded violently, destroying the neighborhood.

There goes the sewers, in a nice big CGI explosion!

Everyone I know who likes TMNT already hates Michael Bay. Especially me.
I apologize in advance for everything I say on here. I regret it immediately after clicking post.

Hey now, this could be good until the sequel...

Again???

How many movie versions of TMNT can we really take, anyway?  Or Spider-Man, Superman, Hulk, F4, and others for that matter?

I'm sorry, but this is where fans need to start voting with their wallets.  If we let Hollywood churn out reboot after reboot, pretty soon we're going to get to the place where we're basically watching the same movies over and over again, ad infinitum, and never get to see anything original.

Pretty soon?  What's with the future tense?

Well, it's not -all- derivative.

And I suppose if you're marketing to teens, then re-making a movie every 5-10 years is a really good idea.  After all, they have no idea it's been done before.

I'd say we crossed that line about 15 years ago but hey, maybe i'm wrong. It's not like every teen movie, parody-movie, action movie, horror movie and slasher movie are all exactly the same. Nope.
We could also deny the fact that the only "original" scenario in hollywood are adaptation of books and comic books.
