Hey, guys...I did a bunch of FF & FFVTTR installs all @ once over the weekend, to get up to date. I did FF Gold from fundamentzero's site, which opened up some new characters & features, of course. I had also patched my FFVTTR/FFX 3.0 rev up w/the stuff on fundamentzero's site. Finally, I found out about FFX 3.3 & loaded it from Dr. Mike's site. One thing that's puzzling me is that I can play the new baddies, like Abraxas, who has a demon-like appearance, in FF, but not in FFVTTR. I don't know which install I did in FFVTTR that made the new characters appear. We'll stay on the Abraxas topic as an example. In FFVTTR, I can't find any mod, vanilla or otherwise, where I can play him, yet he shows in the characters list & his picture is there. I can play him in FF, though, in vanilla FF, as the Gold update appears to have installed him. I noted that in FFX 3.3, it had some notes @ the end of the install, which I can't find anywhere in the FFX directory...it addressed making sure heroes/villains work across mods or something like that. That's my big hang-up here...making heroes carry over from vanilla FF to the mods, w/ powers, voices, & effects intact. If I had my druthers, I'd have Crisis as the uber-mod, where everything's stored, since I really enjoy the huge array of characters built into it...so I'd just add to it instead of vanilla FFVTTR. I did chk around here for an FFX tutorial, but it doesn't get specific on making things work across mods...maybe it does & I just don't have the foundation of knowledge to understand it. Anyway, thank you guys for continuing to help me untie the knots  :)

Part of the confusion I have is that you kind of jump from FF to FFvTR and versions of FFX kind of willy nilly, so I'm getting confused what was installed where.

To try and Simplify it out (and someone probably will need to correct me here)...

:ff: -- You would install FFX 2.6 Gold from Dr. Mikes Site.
:ffvstr: -- Install FFX 3.3 from the FFX3 site.

In  :ff: FFX 2.6 installs on top of the regular game data (like EZFX does) so it basically adds the functionality to all mods if they are coded to take advantage of it.

In  :ffvstr: FFX 3.3 installs as a standalone mod in its own folder with its own settings. So any mod that wants to use the FFX additions needs to start out on a clean base install of FFX (usually by copying the clean ffx3 folder to a new mod folder and building it up as its own thing). This allows each mod to customize their FFX settings independently.

Gotcha. You parsed out what I was saying correctly, sir!  So if I wanted Crisis to be the home directory, I just make a copy of ffx3 & then put the Crisis data in that directory? Would I dump in the ffx3Mappack stuff, too, if I wanted to utilize all those maps? Just wondering if I simply dump in the directories or if I have to do all of this via FFEdit. I really appreciate this. I was so happy I finally got custom voices to work in vanilla FFVTTR, now to try to make them work in other mods & figure out how, for example, to consolidate so Superman doesn't keep blowing super breath from his head in one mod & from his right hand in another...although FFEdit shows it coming from his head, continuing on from head & ending @ head. That's what I don't get...how you affect those kinds of settings in all mods. Anyway, keep the advice coming. I'm very thankful for it.
