Did anyone else try out the inFamous demo? I played it forever and never did reach the end of it. A HUGE demo IMO. Quite fun to boot.

Bah! I went to look for it then realized its a bloody PS3 exclusive...

I hate console exclusives... SO MUCH... *grumbles*

Do you get to fight any of the giant trash monsters in the demo?

Also any idea if it is hitting PC side with a demo or any such? Meh off to google it.

*EDIT* Nope no PC release. BAH! I'm gonna have to start paying more attention to what platform things are getting released on.

I played the first mission. The movement reminds me alot of Assassins Creed. The climbing freedom you have is awesome. If I ever get my PS3 fixed I'll have to pick it up.
Clothes make the man and colourful tights make the Super-Hero.

Tortuga

This is the first PS3-exclusive that I've actually wanted to get.

The Phantom Eyebrow

/downloaded it, but not had a chance to play it yet.

I am quite impressed with the look of it that I have seen so far and that;  it certainly looks lovely, but I have to ask why cannot the powers that be make a superhero game in a setting that is pre-endoftheworld, rather than one that deals with the aftermath?  If a third person adventure version of FF (with controls in the style of  infamous, spiderman, the hulk, etc) could ever be made into a console game, well then... well...that would be rather spiffing!

BWPS

Wow, I finished it. I'm going to buy this as soon as it drops (tomorrow I think). It's like you get to be The Force Unleashed guy crossed between Static Shock crossed between Spider-Man. I even liked what bits of the story were included.
I apologize in advance for everything I say on here. I regret it immediately after clicking post.

The Phantom Eyebrow

Okay, I've played the demo now and am VERY impressed!

The combat took a few minutes (and some deaths) to click with me but once I got the hang of what he can do, and how he can move, the fights were great fun!  He definitely plays like a superhero, albeit one of the glass-cannon variety.

Graphics and lighting effects seem very impressive too for a sand-box (always nice to have a bit of eye-candy).

While the setting might not be my dream one (I prefer the ham and cheese laden silver age setting of FF), the main character seems to be quite agreeable.  He's not TOO dark and gravelly voiced from what I can see.

This wasn't on my radar at all and now I'll probably end up getting it.  This is probably a good thing!   :D

Bought it this morning and spent all non-work day playing it. I freakin' love it. It's so much awesome and really feels superhero-y. I also like the setting and storyline. But most of all, I love to electrocute people. I love to shockwave people and zap them as they come down. And I love to climb on walls and grind on train tracks. It's so cool.

I recomend checking out the new penny arcade comics, they show some of the highs and lows of the game in a funny way.

Warning to those venturing to Penny Arcade. The comics there feature adult language.

UnfluffyBunny

I managed to play a hero for a whole 20 minutes! GO ME!
(then I had to restart and be evil >_> )

BWPS

I just finished (minus 10! blast shards) as a hero. This is one of the best PS3 games yet and it feels very super"hero"y. It's definitely my favorite sandbox city game. I don't really know why, but I love this game sooooo much. The game is just too fun and I thought the plot worked really well and I didn't lose interest even doing repeat side quests. I've heard complaints about the climbing, but I thought it was done very well, like a better version of Assassin's Creed (and that was the only remotely fun thing about that game to me). I don't mind jumping puzzles if there's very little room for error and you get to go up giant buildings.

I'm going to replay it as a villain after I take a break and play Uncharted and some Wii games. It seems like the story would go in a different enough direction for it to still be really cool. And that's like two games in one.
As far as these last 10 shards go, I'm not sure what I even get besides a bronze trophy and sense of completeness. And I'm near positive that no one has ever thought I was cool because of or even looked at what trophies I have.

I have looked at your trophies, BWPS. And I still don't think you are cool. :P

The Phantom Eyebrow

Okay this game is an absolute hoot!  Loving the controls and loving the powers, and having some great superhero-y battles.  The highlight so far was in the aftermath of stopping a truck - technically I'd beaten the mission but still had a heap load of gun and bomb wielding-goons to take out afterwards and they had one of those Conduit dudes still with them.  The battle was in the middle of a busy junction and there were civilians and cars flying everywhere!  Very close-fought battle and I barely won out in the end.  I even got to heal some of the injured civilians afterwards.  Me am a saint!

There are some odd things about the city though which make no sense except in the context that this is a video game.  One example is the TVs scattered about the rooftops so you can get narrative-related news updates as you jump and scamper and climb about the place.  And I might not be an expert on sewage systems, but there's no way they're laid out with parkour experts in mind!   :P

Lots of fun though, and though i was tempted to cause utter carnage at first, I'm sticking to being a good guy for now.

Hmmm, sorry I missed this topic. I just finished the game a few days ago and found the game to be fun. Granted the pop-in gets a little annoying but that's just the limitations of the hardware. Anyways, did any of you guys with the game try out the Uncharted 2 beta? I never played the first Uncharted but I'm considering on picking it up.

The Uncharted 2 beta is really fun. The original is single player only and isn't bad at all. It's basically a less frustrating more likable Tomb Raider. It has some problems, like Phantom was saying about things that only make sense in video game context, but definitely is worthwhile.
