I just recently got a new computer (and am having a devil of a time typing due to it having a different style of keys than I've been used to - I just got it hooked up to the internet today) and it has 64-bit Vista.

Just out of curiosity, are there any problems running CoX on Vista?

(One of the reasons I quit CoX was because I was getting long loading times that got on my nerves and this sucker has a better processor and 3 times as much memory; that doesn't necessarily mean I'll be coming back just yet, though.)

I'm running on 64-bit Vista and CoH runs like a charm.

I did set up an administrator rule to allow updates to download from the internet. I don't know that I needed to for CoH, but I definitely did for LOTRO, so I went ahead and did it for CoH as well.

It's probably not necessary, because CoH downloads a new updater exe each time, so I end up getting an administrator "do you want to allow this to run" type message when I launch CoH. I just hit accept and log in. Smooth as silk.

I run CoX on my desktop (XP) and on my laptop (Vista).

On Vista, I need to add an extension to the shortcut to get a game-compatable cursors.   On XP, I don't.

On Vista, I get the full MA animations in the start/end animation window for captives, bosses, etc.   On XP, I don't. :banghead:

I think this last one is because the video card in my desktop is really old ... and really sucks.    (Any suggestions that would fit into an old Dell GX-270 desktop?)

If you can find a cheap NVIDIA/ATI AGP card, then go for it. Almost anything you can get on the market is better than the integrated graphics on the OptiPlex!

Actually, the old sucky card I currently use is one of the ATI graphics cards, 9200 series.

The drivers haven't been upgraded in years, :banghead: but it is better than the Opti's integrated graphics.
