Easily the best comic I have read in ages. I just re-read the thing and I cant believe what an amazing grasp she has on sequential storytelling and what you can and cant do with comics. In structure it reminds me a little bit of Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut in the sense that it is non linear but the events are pretty much told in the best possible order. You learn about her childhood and young adult life at the same time because they provide context for each other.

Warning:

The book is pretty much about her coming to terms with being a lesbian and the distinct possibility that her father was gay. I can see this bothering some forum members, although I tend to think everyone here is pretty open minded. Also the book is extremely packed with literary references which will delight some of the members here (you know who you are... NERD!) and might make others think she is just being pretentious. I'm on the fence, lots of the allusions she uses are perfect reflections of her life but some other times I feel like they are completely useless to the plot. Still it is always cool to listen to somebody passionate about books.

Anyone else ever read this? Also if you do pick it up let me know...
