...I'll get to try a whole bunch of new XBOX 360 games without spending a dime.  Our local public library has just started carrying 360, P3 and Wii games.  You can rent them for 7 days and they have multiple copies so you don't have to wait that long.  I'm a shameless achievement-you-know-what, so this rocks.

Does anyone else's library lend out console games?

Mine doesn't  Apparently they think learning to "read" is more important. So Timmy can't read, at least he is one heck of a gamer.  ;)

In all seriousness though, thats pretty cool. Enjoy

So far I've reserved the following:
Star Wars: Force Unleashed
Mercenaries 2
Prince of Persia
Smackdown vs. RAW 2009
The Simpsons Game...(easiest achievement ever, literally!)
Spider-man: Web of Shadows
Mirror's Edge

There's a ton more, but this is the cream of the crop.

What happens if your students see you in the library renting games?

Oh, they already know about my love for XBOX-gaming.  And Slurpees.

wow,  that's great,  i remember how psyched i was that the local library (a few years ago in canada carried a lot of comics)

and Thalaw,  whats wrong with letting your students know you game?
my younger students and I used to play NDS all the time,  now i'm telling my middles school students about games like left 4 dead and fallout...anything to get them from playing starcraft! hahah

That sounds like the single best thing ever. I'm jealous.
I apologize in advance for everything I say on here. I regret it immediately after clicking post.

Wow..to the library has given up trying to push books on kids? Haha! I'm kidding, but having video games in a library seems..odd, to say the least.

Still, a lot of video games these days have amazing stories and visuals, not to mention more interactivity.

I wish that they would do that here, but I'm sorry to say that some of the kids around the neighborhood has sticky fingers

Do you know that Starcraft has been broken down to one giant calculus math problem.
