Don't know the details yet, but according to one of the posters over at Byrne Robotics, Philip Jose Farmer died this morning.

Funny thing; I had pulled down my copy of Doc Savage: His Apocaplytic Life, which PJF wrote, off my bookcase last night to thumb through, but never got around to it.

R.I.P.

I'm sorry to hear that. I liked his work, and he had refined fanboy qualities I could appreciate. Remember that story about the grandfather telling his granddaughter about the day King Kong fell from the Empire State Building?

The Hitman

That is a bummer. He was a good writer.

Damn, He was a fantastic writer. I loved the Riverworld series. He was part of a great generation of Sci-fi writers, and I guess most of them have reached that age...

Aw man...

Well, at least we'll have one more book come September to enjoy.

Very sad news. But what a run he had! So many classics... Riverworld, The Lovers, World of Tiers, Venus on the Half-Shell, Father Carmody, Tarzan Alive, Image of the Beast... gonna have to pull out some and reread.

Unfortunately no, but if you give me a title I want to hunt it down.

What a shame.   A great loss to avid readers everywhere.  :(
