CTool2 Freeze Up In Windows 11

SOLVED (sort of): An issue which I ran into with Firefox on Windows is a program called ninja ripper it dumps dlls into a directory and points the program for them even after it was uninstalled. I used this program to take 3d screenshots of Character Tool 2 so I could see where weapons and such were placed for 3d modelling. Deleting said dlls named d3d9, d3d11 and ddraw from the  :ffvstr: directory solves the problem. I still do not know what causes this to happen when updating to 11 however.

-------

Has anyone run into an issue loading Character Tool 2 on Windows 11? I just updated and so far it's the one program with an issue. Tries to load and crashes. Windows 11 compatibility diagnosis couldn't yield results

Here is a screenshot of what's happening. It is trying to load but stopping somewhere. Fine before I update from 10 to 11. I feel like some path was changed and it can't find something. This is the Steam version and I do have the original copy (EXE) and will search it for files but I'm not sure where to start looking.

So I posted this on the discord, but I have CTool 2 and run it just fine on Win 11 with no Compatibility mode on at all. The original CTool does not work, but it hasn't worked right for the last few versions of Windows.

I'm running Windows 10 with no problem with ctool from FF with no compatibility mode. I do most of my output for FF and check them in ctool to see how the rigging is.

Edited the OP and added a screenshot and more information.

Here is an old cracked version of CTool1 that runs independently (Open and search files). Tested in works on my version of Win11 which is the most updated.

Good job and good to know since I use the ripper sometimes.

I know you do and did direct it partly your way since I am sure you'll update someday and need to know this. Note again I never used for Firefox. No real reason too. Yet it was attached all the same. I looked through all logs for files it may not be pointing due to something Nyte said and saw "ninja ripper" instead them and remembered that same thing happened with Firefox. Like it was trying to load the dll that actually there but couldn't for whatever reason.

Again I have no idea why it does it. Just that updating from 10 x64 to 11 x64 while ninja ripper had been on my system is when it started happening. And locating where it thinks those three dll's are and getting rid of them will solve it. Weird stuff.

I'm trying to hold off on win11 as long as possible. Win10 is still working great for me and I only upgraded to it from win7 2 years ago.

I haven't had to do a lot of ripping lately as well. I've found a lot of models already ripped on the models resource  site and Deviantart. Cranlox has gotten very good using Synthetic to turn almost any image into a model. and some are quite good. I asked him to set a limit of a 1000 polys on it and the skins cover up for any lack of detail in the model.

I've got almost all the classic comics, movie, TV, and animation models I've always wanted and the Dioramas give me something to do with them besides the Rumble Room.

Hope all is good with you, and be well
