What it says on the tin, what's your pull list for this year shaping up to be. I was thinking about this because every publisher has up and reinvented their publishing lines, mainly in the face of a natural downslope in sales and to match a rapidly changing market. For myself I'm on the fence and sampling right now but getting pretty comfortable where I'll be at. Chiefly I'll be cutting down a lot (I need money for other things) and especially cutting down on titles from the big two so I can expand to more indie titles and TPBs. Previously I felt locked in event titles so I figure now is the best chance. I'll get back with my list later tonight. What are you all planning on getting/keeping this year and why?

So far I found that I'm starting to like other books besides the big two.  Books from the 80's are being my favorite.  Jem, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters and I heard there are some big plans for GI Joe.  With Marvel, I'm sticking with the spider books and Star Wars, with DC I may just read the big 3 (Bats, Supes & WW).  The prices going up in titles are not helping either.

Funny. I haven't had a pull list in over ten years, and am talking to one of the local comics shops about getting one. Previews just doesn't really speak to me, though. Maybe keep to getting back issues of Showcase Presents or The Essential Marvel. I can get several series that interested me (Superpowers, Masks) in collected form. I just don't know.

I am reading Bat-Mite, however.

Mine has seriously atrophied lately.  I had no use for the big summer crossovers, and since they took over pretty much everything at DC and Marvel, I've cut almost everything from both.  What I am reading: Saga, Astro City, and Mike Mignola's series at Dark Horse.  I was reading Captain & Ms. Marvel, so I'll see what's going on with both titles once the event is over.

I'm a bit incomplete where Marvel is concerned as they're trickling they're titles out. Going with DC first:
- Harley Quinn: Has become a standard for me. This is my "She-Hulk" book now. The off the wall fun book that doesn't care about the rules and gives me a breather.
- Detective Comics: This is a mainstay since I started collecting. I stick with mainstays regardless of the weather with some exceptions. I think Gordan reads decent but it's awkward in another sense.
- Green Lantern titles: Corps is also a mainstay, I get all. Lost Army is being cancelled though so that's out. GLC reads decent right now but I'm nostalgic so I upvote it, GL is like reading an altverse version of Hal honestly.
- Batman & Robin Eternal: I enjoyed the first series and am going to stick with the sequel.
- Earth 2: Society: I'm enjoying the alt take here but I fear a cancellation is down the road for this one.
- Justice League: I sort of read this out of obligation to story which I don't like doing but I like where it's going currently. Where did Simon Baz go though?
On the fence:
- Catwoman: Valentines run jetted to my number#1 DC title from a book I ordinarily thought was fluff. Unfortunately they're out and took the newly established status quo with them so I'll have to see where it goes.
- Starfire: I'm charmed by it and it has the same prose as HQ but the story and setting are really boring. This is close to a drop soon.
- New Suicide Squad: This book has me hooked before the "New". More and more it's becoming a cliche of itself though and losing my interest.
- some of the upcoming mini's have my interest, especially Batman/TMNT of course.

Way down from what I used to get and was down from what I did before the reboot. Marvel mirrors this as of NOW!. Again I actually like it this way though. Most titles I bought and read out of obligation only and not as much enjoyment. This opens up doors for me to try other things as well buy less comics overall which in this age and as an adult I just can't afford as much, or they don't priority to other things so it all shakes out. I'll get my Marvel ones in a bit. I'm sort of reviewing their previews between work.

I guess for Marvel I'm just going to go be ear since their release dates are odd through 2016. Most keepers are going to based in either mainstays or that the same team is staying with the same series.

Current (as of All New All Different):
- Amazing Spider-man: Mainstay. I've stuck with this series since I started collecting. Kraven's Last Hunt was in fact one of my first comic purchases. I'm not enjoying the current run thus far sadly but I read this one through thick and thin.
- Spider-man 2099: The original volume was my second 2099 title next to Doom. It's the same writer now of course and a great book. This stays.

Already on the outs: Iron Man, Uncanny Avengers, Dr.Strange, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Contest Of Champions and New Avengers. I wasn't impressed by these titles at all short of NA. UA is easily one of the worst comics I've ever read. NA has potential but I've been looking into the solicitations and I don't think the outlook is interesting. GOTG...jeez the line-up. I can't even wrap my head around it.

Predictions:
Keepers:
- A-Force: This book was worth the hype and the same team is going forward so I'm sticking with it.
- Spider-woman: I contest that this is the best Spider book on the market right now. Same team into the next run so I'm keeping this.
- Uncanny X-Men: This is a mainstay titles for me in fact it is THE mainstay right after Ninja Turtles. The new run looks interesting and I like the new writer.
- Angela: I've enjoyed this book. Sorry to snub but this is the Thor book that Jason's Thor isn't. Same team into the next so it's already a keeper.
- Silver Surfer: This book is set to return exactly as it was and I'll pick it up then. Maybe late as I did with with the previous volume though since it's not a priority comic. Depends what my budget looks like then.
- Weirdworld: This was the sleeper hit of SWS without doubt and the quality of it took me by surprise. Same team into next so it stays.

Potential: TA Hulk (Pak writes a good Hulk book), Ultimates (I liked Ewings MA and the line-up of this one), Red Wolf (left field book, we'll see), Captain Marvel (I think Butters will bring a lot to Carol), Hawkeye, Ext.X-Men and OML (It's hard to not check out Lemire), Hercules and Guardians Of Infinity (Dan Abnett, what more is there to know here), Dardevil (usually worth looking into), Deadpool (Dugan writes a good Wade), AN X-Men (interested where the team goes from the last volume), Patsy Walker (looks like a fun book), 92' (liked the first run) and AN Wolverine (I love Laura).

Probably not: An Inhumans (I don't care about the Inhumans), SHIELD (I watch the show, I don't need a supplement), Karnak (I like Ellis but I can't afford to drop $ on the character), Howard (if I want Howard I'll read the classic TPB's properly), Nova (Sam didn't catch me in the first volume), RR and Groot (I don't care what Scottie does), Spider-Gwen (looks good but I don't have $ to fit this one in), Gwen-Pool (likewise), Spidey (see Howard), Star-Lord (I like Humphries on this but hate the direction the solicits are showing) and Venom Spaceknight (what are you kidding me with this?).

Else we'll see. Marvel certainly didn't downsize the line like they said did they. Add all the Star Wars, Disney tie-ins, King books and all else...I wonder what their loss column looks like? Anyways I can't afford this many comics nor do I want to read that many so everything's uncertain where Marvel is concerned. I'd like to keep it at ten books by them at minimum for 2016 really so I'm going to end up cherry picking the ones that actually get me excited to read as opposed to just being readable. I'm removed from the days of reading to see what happens with a character next solely. The internet already has me covered as far as filling in plot holes is concerned and for free.

Thing I followed lately: everything Valiant,Transformers, returned to JL and now JLA,Starfire,Midnighter(previous series was better btw)...thats mostly it.

I feel like I'm missing out where TF and GIJOE are concerned. But I don't want to go into them until I can get trades and do the whole shabang. Indies for me are Turtles and any related mini's, Mega Man, IXth Generation and I'm trying out Switch. Indies are pretty much open but I'm going to spend more time tracking down things I haven't read but wanted to as opposed to newer releases. I haven't read Midnighter since the first New 52 volume if that's what your referring to. That was a pretty well done book through and I can imagine hard to equal in caliber.

HarryTrotter

I meant 2006 Midnighter series by Garth Ennis,Keith Giffen and various others.
IDWs Transformers are very enjoyable. If you dont want to read everything you can just start with  MTMTE or RiD.

Yeah, my brain is just lagging. Thought about it later after a typed that. Still the same position though. When some good art is made in franchise form that makes it harder for later forms of it to stand on their own, likewise when something fresh comes about it doesn't have the same expectations to meet. In Midnighters case the series were classics and ground breaking so this current series had a lot to own up. I definitely hold the previous versions against the current even knowing better. Most of the things DC and Marvel do now. Perhaps that's part of why they're both ditching their standard characters for now and going with reinvented versions? With a new face they can mold what they need rather than fail to live up to a legacy.

I read a couple TF and GIJOE books by reading the IDW cross-overs (Infestation, X-Files) and they both read well. Someday when I can.

HarryTrotter

Well its the only Wildstorm ongoing around so there isnt much choice.
My theory is that DC is returning the old continuity slowly with titles like Lois and Clark and Titans Hunt. Both started pretty good IMO.

Just kinda to talk about ANAD Marvel quick.Out of 20+ Avengers titles I think I will only read New Avengers.UC was crap and I dont care about others. And I looking forward to Illuminati because its sorta like Secret Six and I like The Hood.I dont give a crap about Inhumans and Marvels attempt to make it a thing. And I will try the 2 X-men books, even thou I pretty sure I will dislike them.Thats my plan for the upcoming stuff. And ofc Cable and Deadpool.I plan on reading that too. :)
