in need of a skoper

ok guys i've an idea for a skope for a character i'm really surprised hasnt been done as a stand alone mesh.

anyway i dont want to say here because that would spoil the fun, i will say the character has links to main stream but hasn't appeared more than twice


so if you're interested pm me. and its not something i can promise i can skin right away due to a some wip skins and some photography projects

I was just going to send UE a preview pic, but decided to go ahead and post it here since I was supposed to have the skope done on Sunday. I also wasn't sure if anyone else was working on this little project and didn't want to make any assumptions that UE would choose to use my skope. Anyway, here he is: The Phantasm!


UE, let me know what you would like different. I can add those boots if you'd like. The skin is nothing but a major league kitbash just so you all could get the feel of how this guy will look.

I agree with spydermann93 , that is so ectoplasmicly delicious and above all scary in a good way . Plus, I also like the claw on it and furthermore the cape is great looking raggedy and all torn up in that style . One more thing, the face on The Phantasm is so eerie yet spooky compared to Tommyboy's version of Phantasm/The Phantasm aka Phantasm_tvlite along with the other stuff that I mentioned compared to Tommyboy's version itself . So, great job on your progress Hoss20, plus thanks for the preview pic of The Phantasm and I hope someone steps in for you to get everything done with whatever you work on such as The Phantasm along with anything else you left off or couldn't get done in your spare time . Great job on the effort Hoss20, and I hope you'll have better luck and spare time on another skope that's easier for you to do . So no worries Hoss20, just remember there's always something better to work on and there will be other chances to complete a skope or mesh depending on how much time you have no matter what .

You definitely got farther than I did Hoss, but I have to know, what did you use for the front cape?

AA has it on his Wiccan_AA skope. He mentions Ink, Tommyboy, and Renegade in the read me file, but doesn't mention which meshes were used. I just can't recall where I may have seen a piece like this used. It has pretty good geometry in that it's not just a block placed on the core mesh. The Cape_kang_arm_right01 piece from tom_versatile is similar, but not quite the same. Of course, it's also alpha'd, so that makes it a little harder to recognize. It's definitely a piece that I am going to make more use of in the future. Thanks go out to AA for making a sort of template to go off of in regard to using the alpha channel. I also hope that Laughing Paradox doesn't mind that I used the face from a skin that he allowed me preview for one of his upcoming skopes. I just thought it fit the bill pretty well even if it was just a placeholder.

I've always said that I'm a "C List" skoper at best, and I've got a lot to learn. I don't think I will ever catch up to the skill level the likes of which the rest of our amazing community exhibits. I've never been a real tech savvy person, so I know I will always struggle to create what I do.

Even though Hoss has previewed his Phantasm, I have slowly continued to work on mine (Just because I like to finish what I start), and to be honest, mine just can't compare to the quality that Hoss's skope demonstrates.

skoping is one of those weird things where I think everyone has things to learn from everyone else... I know tricks just from bsing with the program, some of which i've written tutorials for, and there are some things (like manually modifying the vertex values) that I now use all the time that I picked up from other skopers.

sorry I couldn't be more help on this one, life sorta got in the way (and by life, I mean the screen of my laptop died for the fiftieth time and I'm sick and tiredof paying to have it fixed every year or so)

That's a major understatement. I won't go into details, but it's safe to say that the Chancellor has a better chance of winning this fight than I do.

UE, I am so sorry. I completely forgot that you were keeping this quiet. I really feel like an idiot.

Like I said, all credit goes to LP for the face, but I did replace the male_basic with male_basic_noface for more of an accurate portrayal.

Echoing what Tomato said, I really enjoy seeing what other skopers have done in that it not only inspires me, but sometimes just gives me an idea or option that I hadn't thought about for doing my own current or future skope. Yeah, even you, Cyber

Not even close to being finished yet, I went with Gren's Mysterio mesh as a base so I could have the particle emitters, and Johnny Patches' Seth skope to get the nub for the right hand. I still need to add the gloves and was thinking about adding the mask from Draven's MK_Sub_Zero mesh, still undecided on that though. I still need to adjust the mapping as well to condense everything. For the front part of the cape, I followed Hoss's lead and used AA's Wiccan skope. I'm also not sure I'm happy with the cape, I may switch it out, I haven't decided yet.

EDIT: Sorry TUE, I figured since the cat was out of the bag that it was safe to go ahead and post this.
