WOW! that had a lot of potential. To bad.

I remember seeing this awhile back. I only would have got it if you could stay in 3rd person mode. The Hulk and Cap gameplay segments are annoying. I can't stand 1st person melee...which is why I can only play games like Skyrim in 3rd.
Clothes make the man and colourful tights make the Super-Hero.

Agreed; I'm no fan of the 1st-person perspective, particularly for this type of game.  What exactly happened to it, by the way?  And if it was a movie tie-in...
Spoiler
it definitely appears to have been based around skrulls being the movie baddies.

Yeah, commented a lot on it when it leaked originally, but since people mention first person perspective, I must weigh in and say it is a rush. Any Champions Online players? Having the super leap felt great. I would love to play as The Hulk in first person, or a super agile character a la Mirrors Edge

This would have been a good game too, but Rocksteady took the license for Batman:

Yeah, this does look pretty neat.  It's a shame that it didn't come together.  I do have to echo most of the others here, though.  I don't think 1st person would have worked very well for this, Lu's comments notwithstanding.  I just don't think I'd enjoy that much.

Yeah, I heard about this game and its subsequent cancellation months ago, I wasn't really that upset by the news. Recent Marvel games, the movie ones at least, have been utter garbage. I've played both the Iron Man 2 and Thor games for PS3, and they're so bad they practically cause me physical pain when I try to play. I have little doubt that Avengers would have been just as much an incomplete mess as those two games were.
