Moloid Madness

As far as I can tell, not much.  With their low intellect and strength, I'd say they were more cannon fodder than anything else.  I would give them Weak Minded, and nothing above a 2 for Strength.  They pretty much just used their greater numbers to overwhelm opponents/obstacles.

Hmm...thanks PG.  The question then becomes, how can such creatures be a threat to the FF in game?  Thing by himself could smash an army of them without taking a single point of damage if their strength is so low.

I seem to recall that their typical M.O. was to just pile onto an opponent until they weren't able to move or see what they were doing.  They weren't any *direct* threat to Ben, but if enough got in his way, he would have trouble moving/attacking/etc without potentially tripping or hitting something he didn't see, so they're more of an annoyance for him.  I think they might have been mildly flame-proof/resistant, so enough could dog-pile onto Johnny to actually put his flame out, if he didn't concentrate on keeping it up in time by increasing the temp.  They may have been sightless, or enough so that Sue's invisibility wasn't very useful.

By themselves, they weren't much of a threat, but Moley used them mostly to drag things away or subdue by sheer weight of numbers.  Since they would be low on the point scale, Private Army should allow for quite a large number of them to appear, possibly enough to be a hindrance to any beams or projectiles heading towards Mole Man, and potentially slow attacker's progress towards him.  I think Symbiotic was the attribute that allows characters to be stronger in the presence of others with the attribute, so that could be worked with.  Perhaps some of the auras could be applied to them, so instead of heat or radiation damage, characters could have a chance of tripping when they get so close to them (hopefully there could be a weight threshold on that, so more massive characters have less of a chance of falling), possibly with a stun carrier.  If a proper FX could be crafted, you could give Mole Man a stasis attack, with the FX being a bunch of the moloids moving towards the character, and the crystal prison reskinned to look like they're swarmed all over the character, maybe with a blind carrier (can't remember if you could do two special states together).

That's all that comes to mind at the moment.  I'll try to look them up in the MU Handbook later tonight to see how good my memory was.

But yeah, PG's description is pretty good. They are just to slow down, not stop, foes from reaching Moleman :P

Took me a while to find their entry, and it was less enlightening than I had hoped.  None of my rememberences (in reference to Sue & Johnny) were mentioned, with the exception of "see very clearly under very dim light due to vision extending into infrared portion of the spectrum, and could comfortably exist at Subterranea's temperatures."

However, this bit, "will form doglike attachment to their masters, and will unhesitatingly sacrifice their lives upon their master's command" could help explain them grabbing onto a flaming human.

Hmm...well thanks for the info PG!  I'm definitely going to have to give this some thought.  Does the Mole Man ever arm these guys?  I seem to remember reading some stories where they had some weapons...

It's certainly possible he armed them with some form of Deviant tech weaponry, and they're capable of operating and maintaining the technology, they just need to be directed to any new task/target, due to independent thought being eliminated by the Deviants during the engineering process.  I don't remember any examples of it off the top of my head, though.  I think he usually relied on various Monster Island bruisers to do his heavy-hitting.

Okay, thanks again PG.  I think that, with some monster skins and skopes folks have sent me, I should have enough to make things interesting.  The Moloids backed up by some monster muscle should be a challenge.
