anybody watch this series? (ancient aliens) i have and really like it. they talk about ancient mythological figures( zeus, apollo, thor, odin, hercules )that were probably visitors from space. thought it would be cool if someone could make the mythological gods but make them technology based.  :)

No.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_astronauts
"[...]and that the core of the ancient astronaut theory originates in H. P. Lovecraft's short stories "The Call of Cthulhu" and "At the Mountains of Madness"
I've always found this branch of pseudo-science/pseudo-history to be extremly offensive (i've studied mythology and ancient civilisations; throwing everything we know just to say "an alien did it"...) AND at the same timeto be enjoyable as a premise for a science fiction show.
But this? They dare call themselves scientists? This show is supposed to be a documentary? The two guys who invented the theory admitts that there's no real evidence to support their hypothesis, and that everything they found (misplaced artifacts, drawings/arts, surprisingly "advanced" science) can actually be explained with "traditionnal" science.
The guy who claim they have proof are second-generation theorists. They're in it for the money, because pseudo-science sells more books than just plain science.

Sorry about the rant, but giving this much credit to charlatans always hits a nerve.

So about the request, i'm pretty sure we could find some reference pics for science-based gods; it's been a popular subject in science fiction (Stargate anyone?). Zeus with an electro-staff, Hermes with rocket-boots, Appolo with a miror-suit with powerfull lamps to simulate the sun...The possibilities are endless. They'd make for cool design, but that'd be a lot of work too.

yeah, some of it doesnt add up to me either but its a fun show to watch. it does raise some questions. anyway...i figure they would be like the new gods or the eternals! it would be a good way of some skinner/mesher/skoper to express their creativity.

I was in Art History 'way back when Chariots of the Gods was popular. I remember the teacher explaining that the previous month evidence of a canal from the Nile to one of the pyramids (or some other cyclopean structure) was discovered, but the discovery was lost in the furor over the "theory" that aliens with tractor beams had built most of the Egyptian mega-structures.

While I don't deny the possibility that aliens may have visited the Earth in the past, humans have almost always been ingenious enough to get by without extraterrestrial interference.

You have keep in mind that the ancients didn't have TV, video games, or other time wasters.  If they wanted to make their lives a little more interesting, they couldn't just flip a switch.  They had to actually go do something; so, they did.

Love it, but don't believe in aliens. Maybe the Kree.

I read the book of Erich von Däniken where he explains the theory that we were created by aliens. The Bible, the Mahabharata and other texts speak about angels and gods with strange weapons.
...But who created the aliens?
