Regarding knockback ...

Hey everyone. I got a question.

I prefer to have most melee attacks of most characters give knockback to some degree. I feel it brings more dynamic to the fights, especially in watch-mode. This presents me with one problem though. It's fine when Dare Devil fights Batman, it's fine when Hulk battles Juggernaut, but it doesn't really work when Dare Devil smacks Hulk around, knockbacking him all over the map:) Dare Devil isn't supposed to be able to knockback The Hulk, well perhaps once in a lucky while, but not all the time anyway. As hinted the solution isn't to make Hulk immune to knockback, as this would also make him immune to Juggernauts knockback and that's not what I want.

So my inquiry is therefore if there's any way to make the knockback outcome, or lack of same, depended on the relative power of the two implicated characters or something like that? Something that makes Dare Devil knockback Batman, but not Hulk? Honestly I'm drawing a total blank when it comes to a possible solution, but perhaps there is a very straight forward answer. Anyway, I hope someone is willing to help me with this, and that I have made myself somewhat clear.

How is the attribute "velcro-feet" calculated by the way, is it just like a random immunity to knockback or is it somehow depending on the strength of the attacker?

I'd suggest using a herofile editor to change their weighs to reflect the differences in heft and strength.  DD and other street levelers around 70 lbs., Hulk and others around 300.

Ah, thank you very much BentonGrey. I wasn't quite sure if that was a possibility and if so, how you'd go about it, but I did actually wonder about something like that myself. Nevertheless it certainly sounds like what I'm looking for.

A question though. Would the higher weight actually put a stop to knockbacks made by "normal-strength" characters, or does it merely limit the distance of the knockback?

Which herofile-editor is recommended for such a task and are there any drawbacks using an external editor FFX-wise?

i dont use ffx because never been able to really understand certain aspects of it but have my Daredevil's strength at 3 and his melee magnitudes, knockback, ect set at low.his material is flesh. hulk's strength is 10 and his material is stone. i also use the passive defense to give him near-invulnerability.i have it set at 92%. my DD'S never moved my hulk.

Well, heaver weights will make knockback pretty ineffective.  Imagine Manbot hitting Mr. Mechanical.  At best, he knocks him off his feet with an overpowered punch, but MM isn't going anywhere.  That's the basic idea.  I'd use Alex's EZHero, it is great, and there are no real problems regarding FFX.

Thanks again, BentonGrey. I'm trying it and I'm loving it :) Also thanks for the input Herodad1, but I think Bentongrey had the solution I was searching for.
