Ladies and gentlemen, as always seems to happen, the grand plans that I had about releasing a set of mini-mods all at once have fallen through because of various technical bugs and other factors, so I've decided to release the one that is more or less ready and has simply been sitting on my HD while I finish the others.

How many of you are reading Project Superpowers and really loving the series?  How many of you are thrilled with a chance to read superhero stories that aren't weighted down by decades of bad continuity?  How many of you find the Black Terror completely awesome, whether he's crazy or not?  Well, for any of you who found yourselves leaping out of your seats and yelling "Me, Me, MEEE!" I've just uploaded a mod for you...you...Yoou!  *Ahem*  Excuse me.

Anyway, join The Fighting Yank as he sets out on the path of redemption, trying to atone for the great betrayal that deprived the world of the superpowers...and of hope itself.

Hmm, now after I finish the JLA campaign should I do another or this? Decisions, decisions!

I never read the "Project", but I know Black Terror and the Green Lama from previous incarnations and really like the writing of this Benton Grey guy, so I'm already playing it. ;)
Spoiler
Just finished the first mission and really liked it. The meshes and skins are great and the map is stunning. The plot interesting, all heroes trapped in the Pandora Box because one of them?! And betrayer is trying to rectify his mistake after all that decades? Great starting point for a campaign.
The mission was short, but fun. Well balanced too, relatively easy, as a first mission should be.
Only problem I saw, the bios are trunked, missing parts of the text.
I'll post a more detailed analysis after I played the rest of the Missions, but I really liked it. In fact, I liked it so much perhaps I'll get the comic too.

JJ, thanks for taking the time to give me some feedback man, I really appreciate it!  Haha, right back at you man, I hear this JJ guy has a World's Finest mod out there that I can't wait to play!

Thanks man, I'm really glad you enjoyed it.  This was my first real attempt at an adaptation, and while I feel I captured the action reasonably well, I don't think that I managed to expand on the story the way I would have liked to have done.  That is largely thanks to me being so burnt out that I didn't want to create base scenes with more exposition, heh, but the story itself is a really cool one.

Yeah, I caught the bio thing right after I released it.  That's a bad habit of mine, as I am, at the best of times, a bit verbose in print.  I'll put out an update today, most likely.  I think I want to tweak the balance on mission three a bit, so I'll include that with the a few other small changes.

Awesome LP, I hope you enjoy it!

:EDIT: And here is that minor update.  The American Spirit should now use the right portrait, All bios should display properly, and Scarab should be a bit more worthwhile now.

I just finished the second mission.
Spoiler
You got the right atmosphere for an apocalyptic story, Benton. The creepy music helped a lot. The Devil's powers are great, loved the "weaken" effect. I'm liking how balanced the heroes are. We have no power houses but they're all able to fight a multitude of thugs.
The "Justine" character was interesting too, since the hero is the "strong, silent type", she was useful to give us a human point of view and some speech lines.
Just one problem. In one of the save form fire encounters (the first I met) two civilians and one thug started over buildings. Was weird "save" the civilians from the fire when they were so far from the danger.
Anyway, I liked the mission and the hero a lot.

Since I had problems with the JSA I started this last night.

Spoiler
Nice work ion the first mission. I like the way 2 of the heroes have attacks that act somewhat like bowling jimmies! Nice work on adapting this. I did get the first mini but had forgotten about it by the time the second came out.

I finished the mod and I really liked it. in fact, I liked it so much that I got the original mini because of it.
The mod really got the "Super Powers" idea right and Benton made a great adaptation. I liked the mod before I read the mini series and liked it a bit more after I read it.
I would only suggest you two things, Benton:
1) Custom vps. Minuteman worked as the Yank, but Samson sounded weird with Order's voice and Scarab was too silent. Sledgehammer and Crimson Quill have great generic versions of heroes vps.
2) A sequel! Three missions is not enough, we need more! ;)
In short, if you're a reader of the "Super Powers" comics the mod is a great translation of the original series. If you never read the series it's a fun, great looking  mod.

Thanks JJ, ha, good for you, tracking down the original story.  I should be getting paid since I'm promoting their book, huh? ;)

Any suggestions on which voices would fit which characters?  I'll probably try and set that up eventually.

Yeah, a sequel is definitely planned.  I didn't even get all the way through the first volume!  SCD is hard at work on more characters, and when he finishes them, I'll try to find time to put together more missions.  In the meantime, I'm distracted by my zillion other projects. :D

Some of the generic vps CQ and Sledgehammer compiled would be great:
Batman: Black Terror
Superman: Samson
Can't think of a good one for Scarab, maybe one of the X-Man, vps, like X-Man.
Great news about the sequel and new Sioux Dynamo creations. he really captured the look of the characters.
