Looks like Godzilla is coming back to the American big screen--and this time by a big die-hard fan of the original who apparently hates the earlier version with a passion, so here's hoping.

I've seen the preview, it's on the 2012 DVD. I'm looking forward to it's release.

I thought the 1998 movie was good....but that was more than 10 years ago and I was in univ.

I thought it was a decent monster movie, it just wasn't Godzilla.

It was an ok MONSTER movie (better than coverfield), but like you said, it wasn't Godzilla

It was a big lizard movie, like Gorgo, The Beast from 20000 Fathoms, The Giant Behemoth, and Godzilla, but, no, it wasn't REALLY Godzilla.

The cartoon series that followed that movie, on the other hand, was much better and at least somewhat Gozilla-ish.

Oh yeah, I follow along that same line of thought too Cat... I loved the cartoon series far better then the feature film.

I call the Tri-Star movie, which I refer to as Fraudzilla, a remake of The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms. Because lets face it, its a LOT closer to that than a Godzilla movie, and would be more enjoyable if they had actually done that and left the Godzilla name off of it entirely. Funny thing is, its believed that TBF20kF is what inspired Toho to go ahead and make Gojira, aka Godzilla, King of the Monsters!

And if you hated Fraudzilla, aka GINO (Godzilla In Name Only).....
