Read it on another forum. He had been hospitalized with Leukemia.

Words escape me.  In my eyes, at least, this is a huge loss to the comics community.  If I'm remembering rightly, I met him once at a Con.  Nice guy; he will definitely be missed.   



as an aside, his Wikipedia page is already updated.  That didn't take long.

Part of the legendary S.A.G. team, he was one of the few who gave one of my favorite characters proper treatment or respect.  He was a great creator, and a great artist.  I am sorry to hear this.

My condolences to his families first but to his fans admirers also.  This kind of feels like saying goodbye to a part of my own childhood.
