I really hope not.

I think I'm worrying about the wrong things in life.

I was walking down the hall, and passed a profoundly ugly man. "Holy crap," I thought, "that is one profoundly ugly man."

And then I was hit with a momentary pang of worry. "Uh-oh... I hope he can't read minds, cuz that would be really embarassing."

That seriously had me worried for about ten seconds or so.

I think that's a legit concern, since most mind readers are at least a little below average in looks. Of course, someone in that business has to learn to deal with fairly brutal honesty. Oddly enough, though, the mind controllers always seem to be extremely gorgeous/studly. I wonder why...

:P

Silver Shocker

I thought about that too many times to count, and almost always end up at the decision that I'm not going to worry about it because I have no way to even know if they can read my mind. If they get thier feelings hurt through something I choose not to vocalize it's unfortunate but changes are I won't even know he heard it, so if I spend time worrying about it and feeling overly consciencious about it I'll just cause myself stress.

These are the kind of things I think people are better off not worrying about. It might seem cold but it's probably the best way to go about it.

BlueBard

I'd be a little more concerned that God (or Supreme Being, if you bend that way) knows what you're thinking...

I worry about that about as much as I worry about being impaled by a unicorn charging around a blind corner.

Sounds like you need to get out of the house more often......or, at least, away from Night Dragon's "spannage" now & then.  :P

And here's the difference between you and me - for me it's the really hot chicks that I really hope can't read my mind . . .

alberik

Why has you not read his mind? So you would know if he can read yours.......

*Or is it not normal to read minds  *

ow_tiobe_sb

I'm more concerned about why you might have thought we couldn't read your mind in the first place, Spud.

Oh, wait a tick.  *concentrates* Ah, I see!  *chuckle* Most entertaining.

Its funny you mention it, when Im in public i always consider the possibility.  The result is that i generally walk around thinking out to any mind readers, "STOP READING MY MIND, JERK!"

Sadly, that's about what I expected.

But if you aren't worried about that, there's no sense in worrying about theoretical mind readers either.  You either fear the worst or you don't.  You couldn't prevent the worst anyway, so why bother?  Might as well lobotomize yourself and save a mind reader the trouble.

Now there's a suggestion we could all get behind! :D

Would that I could; even my brain has the proportional resilience of ten thousand potatoes. Ice picks just bounce right off.

Well, you should probably be more worried if you thought "HAHA! Look at that bald guy in the wheelchair! He must hate his life!"

Hehe, thats likely the last thing someone EVER thought.

I couldn't stop thinking about this issue while at lunch today.  I was in the restaurant I was continually apologizing (in my mind) to any and all mind readers for Spud and hoping they don't take my association with him out on me.

Ice picks aren't the only things that bounce off instead of sinking in...

Then I believe an appropriate bit of advice would be for you to go and boil your head, Spud.

I actually mentioned this when discussing with my friend today how much I worry about stupid things.

Uncle Yuan

You worry about Spud boiling his head?

Glitch Girl

If you ever think someone might be reading your mind, immediately start thinking of They Might Be Giants lyrics.  I assure you, this will immediately eithe rmake them stop, or induce a confusion-related brain-overload coma.

  Well thanks a whole heap for putting that in my head Glitchie!  Not to put too fine a point on it, don't you know how susceptible I am to earworms!?  Even a passing reference is enough to do the damage!  GAH!!!

Been a long time gone, Constantinople.

Now it's Turkish delight on a moonlit night.
