Is it possible to make the 3D effects of hero powers appear in the game's depth buffer?

The purpose is to enable ReShade screenspace raytracing to correctly light up scenes due to powers

I feel stupid for only just realising this, but the reason my previous attempts to implement dazzling dynamic lighting had mixed results is precisely because there was no corresponding 3D object in the depth buffer to correctly emit light. Without the power's 3D object, from the top-down, an Arcane Bolt / Modulating Beam would be coming off the floor and the light being lost to the sky.

To illustrate my point here's a best-case example of Mentor lighting up a tunnel with Modulating Beam

EDIT: I also just realised this would look silly as the depth buffer is only holding opaque objects, and this would disable all transparent blending from FX.

Perhaps a different approach - can the in-game lighting in  :ffvstr: that's used on streetlights be attached to FX or projectile objects?
