I'm sure some of you had extreme headaches coming back in :ff:.

I really really want to have a smooth experience using FF and FFX2.6.

Everything seems so buggy to me. FF crashing and unclickable. FFX2.6 having occasional errors and just stopping. The CharTool is messed up.

I could list more on why I jumped ship to :ffvstr:.

So I am proposing on making everything portable in their working versions. Everything. If someone is up to the task on repacking everything in their working format. Except the main game of course.

It would be a lifesaver. Kind of like an FF Reforged stuff. (Warcraft 3 Reforged)

I'm a tad confused at what your request is. Are you asking for the same tools and stuff that you were using with FF for FFvtTR?

If so, Alex's website has you covered. You can even play the OG FF campaign in FFvtTR!

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I meant the FFX2.6, CharTool and Editor in one pack. Like a portable all in one.

I have both the regular FF and GOG FF. The regular is really unplayable but I can install the official editor on it.

While the FF GOG is playable but it won't let me install the editor on it. It's a head scratcher. And if there is a working CharTool for FF.

I know it's too much to ask.

I've been re-installing both versions multiple times but can't figure out the problem.

Edit: Making things work is so frustrating. If all else fail, I might drop FFX2.6 and just go for EZDR and add my own Fx for FF. :banghead:

ahhh, I see what you mean now.

Yeah, unfortunately, FF never really played nice with me, either. Sometimes I got that pesky permanent fist bug to go away (it's pretty much not there for me on GoG), but I've never had luck with FFX not crashing after a Danger Room fight.

I've just stuck with FFvtTR. There are definitely things I miss dearly from FF like knocking opponents back with objects, the non 3-bar energy system, and FF Active Defenses, but overall, FFX3 on FFvtTR is quite a bit better.

Btw, for the FF tools, if you have the steam and GoG versions, you can copy the gog exe to get its fixes on steam. Then you should still be able to point the FF tools to your steam install.

The knockback and the energy system is what makes me look back from time to time. And then I get reminded that it's not worth it.

Yeah, FFVT3R FFX3.3 is better overall. I haven't experienced any crash while playing. And I love doing watchmode all the time.

Last, was the FF CharTool bug ever fixed? Or am I stuck with floating parts?

From what I've seen, the ctool for FF is more sensitive to balance and attachments than the one in FFvt3R. I've looked at various of the broken meshes in Blender, and by balancing the vertex weighting on the mesh and attaching some of the separate pieces to the main mesh, I've been able to make the floating pieces look normal in the viewer.

When creating a mesh in Blender, I've had it look great in the viewer and then did some minor change to it, and its suddenly all broken up, and the reverse as well - one minor change and it goes from broken to great.

I would say you're probably stuck with floating parts without doing a lot of work, but they normally look okay in either game and in the FFvt3R viewer, so I tend to ignore them.

That's great to hear. I thought the mesh could get damaged. So far the vx meshes suffers from CharTool. While the Gren meshes are fine to view.

Thanks. :)
