Hmm, thanks DG!  That skope is pretty fantastic! (pun unintended, I swear!)

What else is out there for Doombots?

I'm a little torn on which type of Doombot to go with.  On the one hand, I like the chunky, weird design of the Kirby-era ones, but on the other, it makes fairly good sense that Doom would build an army of robots in his image.

Do Doom with Russian Doll, and have each one be the "real" one until that one is eliminated, and th new one shows up. Give one (or more) the ability to summon the Doom Guardbots. Let chaos ensue.

Hmm, I'm still not quite finding what I'm after in the way of Doombots.  DG has sent me several items, but I can't find something quite right.  What do y'all think, should I just use the same mesh as I'm using for Doom and go the 'the Doombots look exactly like Doom' route?

:EDIT: Okay, I've created a simple skope of my Dr_Doom_Gren mesh that I'm relatively happy with.  That just leaves my negative zone cannon fodder.

Also, no suggestions for Negative Zone creatures?

Also also: Does anyone have an FF2-compatible copy map of FF1 mission 6, where you meet order for the first time?

And this is why I'm happy that what I'm currently doing isn't part of BG's Marvel Universe mod...I'd have to hussle it out instead of taking time to tinker with it.   :P

Doombots: I've always made my Doombots look exactly like Doom. They are often indistinguishable from him. At least, that's how I've always known them.

Negative Zone Creatures: This one was always an issue for me. I could never find any really good pictures of his Minions, so I don't really know what to pick for them. TaskmasterX's hero files uses the Daemon mesh with a "Radioactive Daemon" skin for it (I don't know where to find that). I do recall, however, that in the FF game from 2005, Annihilus' minions were insectoids, so maybe reskinned "Soldier Ants" would work?

I don't know about Blaaster, honestly. Maybe he could have the Daemons and Annihilus has the bugs?

You need to check the Guardians of the Galaxy book (the one with Star Lord, right after Annihilation), the one where they bust into the Negative Zone prison to save Quill and gain Jack Flagg as a member (Issues 8-10, mainly 9 and 10).  That one arc showed quite a few different..beastly...minions that were part of Blastaar's army.  Might have a pic of them somewhere..let me look.

Great resources guys, thanks!  Yeah, it looks like NZ life is pretty varied.  I think just some generic monster type materials would be fine, as I don't think these need to necessarily be comic accurate.  Is there something out there sort of vaguely insectoid or beastial along the lines that would look fitting?  Are there any generic skins for the Aliens Xenomorph mesh?

I think the Twisted Earth yahoo groups have some Xenomorph skins that might be useful.

As for more bugs, the Chryssalids from the X-Com mod (or Jik's Yahoo groups) would fit well, I think

When I think generic, non-specific Negative Zone monsters, my imagery tends to drift towards Cthonian-type creatures:  multiple tentacles, multiple (paired or non) eyes, potentially multiple nasty looking mouths, spikes, slime, wings, etc.  An un-restrained Jack Kirby.  Shuma-Gorath could be a good example of what I envision, so could a Beholder (if it wasn't so well known).  I have *no* idea what kinds of meshes would even exist for anything like this (other than the Beholder mesh), and I know that tentacles aren't the easiest thing to do keyframes for (I think Beyonder lost a few San points trying to get ol' Doc Ock finished), so that kind of limits possibilities.

I feel bad throwing out my two cents without any concrete help, but it might spark a memory in someone else.

There are a few "Male Basic" meshes with spikes and tails; I have a couple of noseless body types that could be dropped in on a couple of others. Tommy Male Heavy has a tail and bat wings (I think).

If someone has a generic "Male_Heavy" Skin that they want to donate for this, I may still have some Skopes that could be used, if I don't still have them, then they're easily re-creatable. I had some with weapons, some without.

I made a Sabaac skin years ago. He was like a demon anti-Shazam, you could easily repurpose the skin if you want. I think he had a pinkish hue and nyst like a demon face. He should be up in my yahoo group.

Ohh man, a lot of cool ideas and good suggestions here.  I've got a nice, serviceable Negative Zone monsters using those Twisted Earth skins for the Alien mesh at the moment.  If I wasn't in such a rush to be finished with this behemoth, I would gladly take y'all up on your offers, though.  :D

So, I've been working on my FF campaign, and I decided that Mr. Fantastic could use a bit of a tweak.  He's on Tommy's amazing mesh, but his idle animation has a bit of a twitch to it.  I'm wondering if it is possible to add a different idle to that mesh, and if so, what is compatible?  Secondly, in general, is there any way to speed up animations, make them play faster?  Tommy gave Reed a really cool stretching ranged attack, but it plays a little too slowly to quite match up with contact.

Once upon a time, someone fixed the little robot factory map for me, the one with the big chasm in the middle.  Someone made it so that characters couldn't fall through anymore.  If you remember who you are and could resend me that file, I would really appreciate it.

how about idle_b for Reed?  that's the one I switch it to.
I think it would be possible with some skoping to speed up keys. just change all of the time signatures in a set i guess. gotta make sure they all line up, and it should work.

I fixed the twitch in his idle animation. Which ranged attack did you want sped up? I would say, it's either ranged_15 or ranged_3 as the other ranged stretching attacks move at a decent speed. I have an idea on how to do it in Nifskope and will give it a shot.

Hoss, there are a lot of them that are close to the right speed, but not quite there.  Ranged_9 has a nice, straight trajectory, so that one and ranged_15 could both be useful.  Ideally, they'd visually make contact about the same time as the normal speed invisible beam would.

:EDIT: I don't know what's going on with me and this mesh.  I was tweaking ranged_9, only to discover that it was actually too fast!  Anyway, I slowed it down some, but I can't hit ranged_15 right.

Anyone have any wisdom to offer about that map?  How would one plug that giant hole?

:EDIT2: So, I've been screwing with animation times in Nifskope, and I'm pretty sure I'm not actually changing anything.  I can change the leave_hand or contact time, but that's really it.  If I change the end time or the like, the animation still plays out the same.  Perhaps Hoss will have better luck with this than I am.  I'd love to tweak the speed of some of Mr. F's anims, and some of the Torch's as well.

Okay, I have been screwing with the animations of Mr Fantastic, and I think I've got everything just about where I want it.  The only niggling thing left is the run animation.  I like the stretchy one, but it is a bit too much.  I think I'd rather just a regular run animation.  The default one is a bit awkward.  Is there any mesh I can import animations in from?
