suggested to anyone who like turn based strategy games (especially fantasy type), a very good game this is the only who can compare with age of wonders: shadow magic.

It's has potential, but I would advise against playing it now, as they're going to pretty much throw away the magic system and redo it over.

On the other hand, they're going to give those who have it now the first expansion for free, so you may still want to buy it now.

I'll post my review once it is on the connoisseurs, but I agree with Cat.

Got in on the ground floor (pre-order) since it seemed exactly right up my alley and honestly I do really love what they published, I just dont like the balance issues, AI and whatever crashes I ran into. Maybe the game will be much better in a month or two, be it by Stardocks hard working patch people or by the mod making fan base. I would pick it up then, once the dust settles a little.

i now use the 1.06 version and look stable, by the way i know the game have many issues but it have the basics to modify almost anything...so i expect many great mods.

Stardock is really, really good at listening to their customers and continuing to polish their games until they shine.  In addition, their studio is doing nothing but work on Elemental for the next year.  So yes, I expect this game to be simply amazing after a little bit.

They've also announced Patch 1.3 as the threshold for getting Book 2 (the first expansion) for free.  So if you are at all interested in this game, make sure you buy it before that patch is out.  1.08 is about to be released, so we have a ways to go yet.

I can't decide if I like this game or not, and therefore cannot decide if I'm upset that I spent $50 on it. 

Some aspects of the game are fun while other I just can't get into. 

The magic system is annoying and boring at the same time.  I know you guys warned me about that, but I was thinking it just didn't work right, which doesn't appear to be true.

It seems like you have to spend a lot of time building huge armies and rolling up your enemies from the get go.  I haven't been able to figure out a better way to win.

They are completely replacing the current magic system pretty soon.  1.1 I believe was the target, which is not far off.

They are ballancing the other things too.

My advice is, put the game aside for a month or two, then come back to it.  I think you will be very pleased with it at that time.

Patch 1.08 came through last night.  I think it helped.  Resources are more scarce now, which slows the game down, making it more challenging.  I didn't have any people show up that I could recruit into my empire, and since I chose a king with the Ugly trait, I never had heirs, so that made the game more difficult.

I think they are heading in the right direction.
