female_versatile recombination - possible?

Okay, so.  Back in the days of the original release, Sarcasm-hime made a skin of AndrAIa from ReBoot, for Mienk's female_fullhair mesh, which I believe was based on female_versatile (correct me if I'm wrong).  It is a very good skin, and it's a very good mesh for her, but she's missing her fins.  Is it possible to combine the hair from female_fullhair with the forearm and calf fins available within female_versatile... and do it so that the skin-mapping for what was already there doesn't change?  That is, so that I could use Sarcasm's skin and just paint in a new section for the fins?

If anyone can do that for me, or instruct me on how to do it myself, I'd be hugely grateful.  If it's not possible, I would also be grateful to be told this.

Also... any way to add a trident?  *cough*
