I saw one of them!  Didn't feel like watching it a second time....

Finally got a chance to a few weeks ago.  It's taken me this long to wash the stink off, both physically as well as mentally.

One word review:  ugh!

Once again, SciFi (I can't stand the new "SyFy" name change) has taken a perfectly good franchise and run it into the ground, mostly with its attempts at "modernization" (for other examples see Sliders and Flash Gordon).  I also don't care for what's been done with Battlestar Galactica, but it's caught on with plenty of people so I'll leave it be.  Back to the Phantom -- it didn't feel much different at all from just about any of the horrible made-for-SyFy movies they have been cranking out.  Similar quality in production, acting, and script, similarly wince-inducing.  On the other hand, I've been really liking two of their original series, Eureka and Warehouse 13.  How can we get such almost polar opposites from the same company?  Oh well, another disappointment, but it was telegraphed far enough ahead that I was at least braced for it.

Personally, I think Marvel needs to call their lawyers again.
