Did you try to make the refelction file a different color? There is also a material control panel in Nifscope that has a slider to change the "glossiness" of the item. It also lets you set the color somehow (I'm not sure how)

I tried the reflection file, but i didn't think of trying nifskope. when i have some free time, i'll give it a try. Thanks glob.
