When I started I had mixed feelings about the game but having progressed past level 10 I'm seeing more interesting stuff now. I also got to play in a team up with Benton for a while and got my feet wet with PVP which I loved, and my main character (The Vocalist) is well suited for. For sure I'm keeping my account another month, and I cant wait to bring in a couple more heroes I've always liked.

Cant wait until they include villanous play though.

BentonGrey

I was glad to team up with you Lu.  I hope you continue to enjoy the game.  It is pretty awesome from 11 up to the Snake Gultch missions (they are something of a pain) but it picks up again after that.

Ohh, I'm going to be on this afternoon if anyone is around.

Anyone up for a little superteam fun? I played for a coupla hours already but will take a break until about 5 0r 6pm est if anyone is up to it.
I can't help it that I look so good baby! I'm just a love machine!

I've been playing this game quite a bit since the patch went through.  It's way better than it was the first time I went through it.  I wouldn't say they've added a lot of content, but there are definately things that were added since launch.  There are plenty of missions to keep me going.  Last time I remember some fairly big gaps in conent at specific character levels.

Out of curiosity, can I completely skip Lemuria and just go to Monster Island or Vibora Bay?  I thought Lemuria was interesting, but the problems with lag in that zone have left a really bad taste in my mouth and I have no desire to revist that zone.

So Vibora Bay is finally live? I haven't logged on to CO much in the past month or so because I've been playing Mass Effect 2 a lot (on my 6th or 7th playthrough right now). Downloading right now.

Lemuria does suck. I can count the # of missions there that are actually fun on one hand, and most of them require travelling to the far end of the zone.

You can forget about Lemuria without any problems. I know a lot of people who refuse to even set foot in there, and I don't blame em.

Xenolith

I'm not sure if it's live yet or not.  I'm trying to plan ahead a little.

GhostMachine

Apparently its up on PTS, but not live yet.

Big complaint is the requirements for the Tier 4 powers. There are 4 different ones (one for each category of powers, not for each powerset), and you have to have 10 powers from a category to take one.

Xenolith

Oh, so you have to stick to your orginal power set rather than jumping all over taking the best powers, eh?  Well, that's what I did for my frist character, and to be honest I sort of strayed from his original character concept which made him a little less fun to play.  I'm going to stick with my original set for my second character.  I'm looking forward to seeing the Tier 4 powers.  I just hit level 23 last night, so I have quite a way to go before I need to worry about Tier 4 powers.

I wonder if I can take a Tier 4 power with one of the free retcons I've earned for my first character?

Valandar

So is it possible to have all but one or two powers be from your core powerset? My Might toon has a single Munitions power and a single Single Blade power... lost track of how many powers total you get...

Something I've recently discovered, although I'm sure it is not mystery, is that I can listen to iTunes instead of the in-game music.  LIfe is better with this feature.

I've known that was possible for a long time, but I've not bothered checking out how you do it.

Xenolith

There is a little button in the main menu once you get into the game called music.  Just hit that.

The only problem is that you have to manually cycle through all your music to get to what you want, or alt-tab to work with iTunes.  I guess it really isn't a problem.

Hey....who's still playing on a regualar or semi regular basis? I'm thinking about quitting for a little while.

I still play quite a bit. I just created a new character....Doctor Darklight!

I`m pretty regular nowadays, got some free time.

Really diggin` the new toon C6, nice color choice.

Alaric

I'm away fairly often these days- at least once a month, usually for at least a week at a time, and I was without internet access for a week after the last time I came back, but when I'm here, and can get online, I'm still active. I take breaks from the game from time to time, but usually all it takes is dipping in once and I'm hooked again.
Fear the "A"!!!

Xenolith

i'm playing pretty frequently right now.  I'm enjoying the new patch.  i can only play for an hour per night on the weekdays, but on the weekends I'm on a lot of the time.  I'll probably play for another month or so.

BentonGrey

I've had very little time lately, and I'm debating whether I should stay or not.  What I'm hearing about Lemuria doesn't encourage me, as that's one of the things I've been looking forward to the most.

Sorry to hear that Benton...you're enthusiasm for heroing is missed!

I don't get the Lemuria hate. I hear all the complaints about lag and how melee toons are unplayable there. Spartanic is pure melee...I've had zero issues with using him there or with lag. It's a fun zone to play with amazing visuals.

Lemuria is very cool to check out, especially if you like Celestials and Eternals.  I made my way through it, but I had lots of lag problems which were very, very frustrating.  Most of the escort missions = autofail due to lag.  They say it's all fixed, so you should give it a go.  It's not impossible to play with a melee character, but it is more challenging I think, because some of the groups are clumped fairly closely.  You can't do a lot of darting around with your character or else you might draw the attention of another group.

bat1987

Lemuria doesn`t lag at all right now, it looks amazing, definitely worth checking out.

Valandar

I still play quite often - got one toon at 40, another at 34, and have a few I trot out for costume contests, like Das Ant. :)

I'm playing more often now than I have been due to being burned out on ME2 after having played it through several times (I've played all the way through as every class except Sentinel, and actually played through as an Infiltrator (two different characters) twice), but am not playing as much as I used to. I guess I'm waiting for the VB expansion to go live. I only have one 40 and my next highest are 2 different lvl 22s, due to having alt-itis (I bought a set of additional character slots and only have 1 free at the moment). My lowest is a lvl 10.

Right now I'm taking advantage of the free reactivation weekend in CoX, but no way I'm going back to that unless they add some incentive - and Going Rogue isn't it. I want more endgame content and a lvl cap raise, neither of which is likely to happen. Am going back to WoW once the Cataclysm expansion comes out, but that won't be for months, and will be playing both it and CO then.

And your Wight Knight got ROBBED in that costume contest we were both in, Val.

Valandar

Well, Das Ant performed pretty good in a CC tonight... and the perk from getting the $$ actually levelled me. So it looked for all the world like I had levelled from a costume contest. :P

Another thing I like:
Those annoying missions that citizens and cornered hikers give you are now worth an amount of XP scaled to you experience level.  Huazzah!  Sometimes they are a good way to get blue or green rarity items, so I don't mind doing them now that I get more than about 2 exp for the mission.

Yep. And I also like that they got rid of the freakin' timer so you don't have to do those annoying missions right when you accept them.

I agree. One of my characters once completed one of those missions, found the door, and was about to exit when the game crashed. They had to restore the game from a slightly earlier point, and by the time I got in, the mission I had just successfully completed had been failed. It was extremely annoying.

Frankly, without the timer, I don't find those missions annoying at all- I actually enjoy the fact that the citizens run up and ask my characters for help. I still find it odd that they always say something like "I just saw some suspicious people entering that building across the street" when it almost always turns out that the mission's on the other side of town, though...

bat1987

Agreed on the citizen missions, they`re fairly easy to complete and there`s enough of them to help u level up quite a bit.

Xenolith

Yep.  The first time I played through this game I was desparate for mission a lot of the time.  I was doing missions several levels over my experience level.  This time I'm leveling ahead of my missions.  I'm having much more fun this time than I did the first time.

Valandar

I managed to not do a single mission over my level with the latest toon (Barnyard Brawler) until level 33. And at level 36, I STILL managed to have several lvl 36 missions to run before having to start on 37. And with the upcoming Revelations expansion, there should be LOTS of content for the last few levels, too.
