I've signed up to be part of the beta but have not heard back either way.  I am going to pick this up whether I get to be in the beta or not but I am on the fence as to whether to get it for PS3 or PC.  Any suggestions or preferences there?

I'm going with PC, personally. I'm a relentless roleplayer, and so I'm going to need a keyboard for all the text chat I will inevitably be typing in character, hahaha.

Let's not forget the new episode 7 vid - I mean there almost promising an addition in the future to shapeshifting powers like becomming a titan or micro hero - I think this game is going to rock more than CoX or Champs which i'm an avide gamer of both - better graphics, better story telling, & chars you actually care about defeating or fighting along beside - Sign me up

So ticked. First Gears 3 & now DCUO delayed & I just bought my PS3 too - Now i've got nothing new to play the rest of the year - I suppose I'll buy Heavy Rain & God of War 3 to tied me over

Marketing decision if i'm not wrong, due to the delay of a wow extension to december.
Mybe it's not such a bad thing. People who have preordered the game won't "accept" a delay if Sony doesn't throw them a bone to take patience.
Maybe we'll see an open beta; or better yet, a independant character creator like Dragon Age had (so that you just have to import them in the game when it's out).
Also, maybe it will force them to actually show in-game footage on there facebook publication, instead of just saying "ooh i just played the game and it's really good. but i won't show it to you. bye"

Even though the video is chaotic you can see alot of powers being used & some powers that made me say WoW like what is going on with those giant fireballs bouncing around or the guy stomping on the ground & a rock flies up then he punches it - Some costume pieces that suprised me are the Rhino & Lion head - The character models look amazing & the best i've seen yet from the superhero mmo games - The animations are still a bit stiff but, no stiffer than what I see in Champions - Basically the beta looks like your stuck in an area & everyone is smashing each other to test out how the powers play - Still disapointed in the delay but, what can ya do

Gotta say I`m not a fan of pre-defined body types, and I`m definitely not gonna use the "inspired by" button, I can only imagine how many "Batmen" and "Supermen" we'll be seeing.

Is that not the point of playing an officially sanctioned Super-Hero MMO? People want to be Batman. People will buy DCUO & create their own Batman.

God knows I will be creating my own Batman inspired character (Black Dragon ), but I think that inspired by button makes your character look way too much like one of the iconics, just look at the inspired by Joker clown guy (the one in the suit).

Salute partially given, since we were, in fact, both right.

The inspired by characters are not exact copies, but are a way to give folks something similar.  So in a sense we were both correct.

Its definitely not as good as CO customization, but it looks interesting enough, I like the stance options a lot.
Keep in mind that there are tons of costume pieces to unlock, according to devs anyway. But, if they are gonna limit body customization, they might as well give us more than 3 body types.

I`m still bummed about not seeing electricity power set, eventhough they`ve shown it in earlier videos.

As far as I know, the game hasn't even entered closed beta yet (I could be wrong). It wouldn't surprise me if the character creator changes a lot by the time the game is actually in stores.

Only VIP beta has started for those who attended the NYCC - According to what i've seen on there facebook page those who sighned up awhile ago on there website for beta will get in next for the PC - After that they will slowly let in the preorder crowd before Nov 30th

I just came back from NYCC and the game looks good.  They only had the PS3 version running.  The way it plays though, it kinda hard to tell it's a MMO.

Just watched the character creation videos, the sewer mission walk through & part of the Mark Anderson interview.

This game is looking neat. My quip right now is the mentors are a bit limited. Some of my characters won't fit with any of the three shown in the creation videos. Where would mutant types fit in? Superman is the inherent contact but he's a poor fit for a mutant themed character IMO.

I guess you have to get a little openminded there. Superman may not share your origin, but he's the best you're gonna get. I'm not too happy with Reep getting Wonder Woman.

The point of the mentor is to have someone your character gets missions from.  Correct?

That, and i think your mentor predetermine the "elite" gear you'll be able to get later in the game (we've already seen the batman armor and the superman armor the players can unlock)
