Has anyone combined attributes and released them for public use? I'd be highly interested. :)
I'm a little weary doing the editing required.

I know I've been making a lot of requests lately. I'd love to contribute but 2 talents I do not have are visual art and (not too much anyway) computers. I'm an idea man. So, again, I appreciate everything.

revels

Yes, I ended up figuring them out on my own. And yes, it is easier than one might think.
Warnings of "could bring ffx to its knees" makes one skittish though. lol

However, both tutorials I've found (The one on Dr. Mike's site and the main one on here) are incomplete and *not* specific enough for newbies. I think I'll be posting a new one perhaps. Being able to combine attributes really opens up new depth to gameplay.

Amazo Version 2.2

check bentongray's dcug mod, i think that their are some combo attributes there. i just don't know how to merge them with the regular ffx or even the regular ffvt3r game.
For anyone, and everyone, who has ever done anything to improve the FF/FFvs3R gaming experience, I want to say thank you. Life is so short, and you have all brought me so much joy. I hope that one day, I am somehow able to return the kindness and generosity that all of you have shown.

Oh hey!

I didn't even notice this thread.

I have a mod (unreleased as of right now) that has many combo attributes and even a few that enhance character stats. If you're interested at looking at them, just send me a message and I'll have them on your way.

Amazo Version 2.2

that would be sweet. thanks. i'll send you a pm with my addy.

Hehe, that's not a problem :P

Inside the "New Attributes" folder, you'll see an assortment of folders with names like "lang" and "missions" with a couple of files. Just copy all of those folders and files and drop them directly into your "ffx3" (or whatever your mod folder's name is) mod folder. It should ask if you'd like to overwrite your files. Say "yes" when prompted.

And with that, you should be done. To make sure, see if the attribute called "Super Speed" is in the mod. If it is, then you have installed it properly :)

Does anyone still have a copy of this mod?  I am having some issues with custom attributes and this seems very helpful.

Thank you.

spydermann93

Unfortunately, I do not still have this mod, but if you have any issues with custom attributes, please let me know and I can try to help you out

Thanks for looking.  I think I have some of it working, maybe.  I am trying to get some existing attributes into a dev mod.  I am using the MA mod for my dev.  I have merged the attributes.dat , copied over ffxmulti.py, and copied over the string.txt data to the new strings.txt.  They now show up in-game.  I just need to test them out.  Have I missed any steps?

From log:

00:00:31.43: FF: ERROR: CRpgSystem::patchRPGABitSet, custom_template_54 has unknown attribute painresponse
00:00:31.43: FF: ERROR: CRpgSystem::patchRPGABitSet, custom_template_54 has unknown attribute gamma

EDIT:

Looks like that might just be a cosmetic error.

spydermann93

You will also need the ffx.py, ffx2.py, ffxcustom.py, and ffxcustom2.py. Those contain a few attributes that are not in vanilla ffx and their code.

kidnasty

I have adjusted them accordingly.  Some errors in the logs, but so far no issues within gameplay.

Epimethee

The ff.log errors are normal: they were, for a long time, what permitted FFX to create new attributes. Your script.log file is usually the one indicating problems with FFX.
