Questions on some powers.

Outcast

Force Fields. There are many kinds of Force Fields. There are telekinetic force fields, force fields made using matter like air,earth,water or fire...magnetic force fields, sound barriers, energy barriers....etc..

I need some help on how to simulate these different kinds of force fields and the type of attacks each one can block.

For example, if a character has air control powers and has the power to create these shields made of air...how would i go about making this? Based on a book in classic marvel rpg, this kind of shield can only block physical projectiles only like bullets,spears,knives,etc. So would it be correct to make this air shield block crushing and piercing projectiles only? How about a telekinetic force field? How different would it be? Could it block all types of attacks except for mental and mystical attacks? :)

I've used the Firewall SFX as an Active power. I renamed it (To Fire Shield) and set it up as a Defense. I think there is already a Storm Tornado Active Defense. Just set it up in Character Creation as defending against Crushing and Piercing attacks and nothing else.

Ever play Champions? The SFX offers some small advantages and disadvantages, but the Fire Shield, Ice Shield, Earth Shield, and Telekinetic Shield will all be a Force Wall.

This is a pretty good question, because I've wondered about some of my active defenses as well.

For wind block, set it to crushing and piercing projectiles only. However, instead of block, choose deflect.

For characters with darkness powers (Shadow Lass, for example), I set an active defense with a dark cloud fx around the character to absorb (or pass through) projectiles, to simulate low accuracy in the dark.

Thanks for the input Daglob, but I'm not sure i understand this Firewall SFX in Champions? :unsure:

Nice suggestion LP, didn't think about using deflect in a wind block. :doh: Your dark cloud defense is a pretty neat trick too.  :)

Hmmm...what about radiation attacks? What type of force field can protect you from such attacks? A magnetic force field, energy force field? I'm not sure if a telekinetic force field would be able to block that kind of attack. How about characters with earth control powers being able to create earth shields? :)
