This is awesome
The possibilities could be amazing. You could do your very own dc vs marvel using ff meshes.
Now i have no idea about coding a mugen character just the spriting part but how hard/time consuming was this to do?

"sorry she couldn`t wait" superman to wonderman jla/avengers.

Wow.. is this the actual 3d model,  or did you take a buttload of screenshots and apply them to sprites?

Swingman

This looks very promising. Great idea and a very impressive work. I hope you land their blessing...

The beauty part about this is that the CTool let's you pause & use the slider to place your char in any position - You will need to play around with the size of the CTool(trial & error) to get the correct size because you don't want to resize your picture for every frame so resizing the CTool will save you alot of time & keep the images at the highest resolution possible example pic
Spoiler
- Note i use a 50 inch HDTV for my display so that example pic might look a little different on your display on adjusting the size of the CTool - At this point it's all about knowing how to make a high res char in Mugen Plus - The trick to making a hires char is just to make the character picture twice as a big as a normal sprite & in the char Def file changing x & y scale from 1 to .5 allowing for an image 2 times as big but displaying it half the size - Ultimately it turns out normal size but, higher detailed - Ok now that we have all that I'll tell you the best way to get the pictures done quickly - Take a snap of the char in CTool that displays all the colors of the char - In Powerman's case I snapped a frontal shot with print screen, then I opened up Gimp paint program & did the Ol' (control + V) to display my image then I cropped the picture with the knife tool
Spoiler
& saved it as a PCX file - Next I used a crappy paint program to decrease the colors to 256 since Gimp's posterize tool doesn't seem to work corretly for me but anything you can do to get it 256 colors will work
Spoiler
- Now that your pcx image is in 256 make sure that the color palette has the transparent color in the top left corner & completly color over the image to have nothing but a transparent color image & save it & name it Base
Spoiler
- I name it Base because this is what where going to use from now on to slap our images into to speed up the process since it has all the colors we need - Now just start taking snaps of the character again in CTool ussing the pause & slider & after cropping them take the background color with the eye dropper tool from your base image & bucket fill the background of each image your image your taking & save as pcx - Next just open up Base image & copy paste your new images there, rename & save
Spoiler
- Keep repeating this process until you have a punch, kick, walk, etc... - As for programming you'll have to study that on your own but as for me I ussualy pick a base to throw my stuff on till I can get a programmer from the Mugen community to help me out - Right now i'm ussing wolverine as a base to work on since he has plenty of melee moves - I also copy & paste code from other mugen chars to get new moves like I want the slam from sabertooths throw so i'll just copy paste that onto wolverine to get that cool throw for Powerman etc... - Still a little knowledge of coding is needed to do this which I have but it's not hard - If I can figure it out then anybody can - hope this helps

Butt load - Powerman's hard punch was around 21 frames to keep him looking smooth but i'm sure you could do it with less

C6 is down with it but still havn't heard from Ren - He's ussually pretty cool when I talk with him so it's probably a green light to continue on with this project - Theres not a char I can't place in mugen now from FF - To bad you don't live forever on planet earth or I might just do'em all

UnkoMan

Wow, cool idea man. A good way to get lots of super heroes in Mugen.

MJB

It's a trip watching a Freedom Force character fighting Kung Fu Man. GJ, Electro.

Cardmaster

Finished a few more moves for Cage - Uppercut, 1 throw, 1 special move, jump up, jump forward, standing medium kick, standing block, walk backwards & added a few sounds - He's starting to look less like wolverine now but it's still early - I'm having fun trying to come up with moves - I skoped the chain off for his Beatdown special move so he looks like its getting taken off and whipping it around - I'll keep the first post updated with everything that's acommplished

detourne_me

He looks great! What has the response been like on the MUGEN boards?

So far only posted in the edit graphics sections on 3 forums which has little traffic in those sections - So only a few hits mostly possitive but, since I have this much done I just started an offical WIP section a few minutes ago - I only hang at 2 Mugen forums - Scruffy Dragon & Infinity Mugen which are mainly DC/Marvel Comics based - I occasionally post my stuff over at the Mugen Fighters Guild but, there more Japanese oreinted so they might not know who Luke cage is - I'll keep ya updated - By the way Iron Fist will be in on this action

I was running out of original animations to give him when I thought why not just create a static pose of the mesh with NifSkope & slowly animate new animations for him - My first try was his spinning lariot which is on his Feirce Jump Kick
Spoiler
That turned out ok so now i'm in buisness to do more original animations for him - Got a few new moves for him now in this video - Still havn't added any new sounds or changed the FX from wolverines but, my Frankenstien Monster is comming alive

Vid #4 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78cZNqt2k8c
