I can not stop playing Minecraft. It's like being swallowed by a black hole.

I'm lucky that I'm impatient... so I'm not the guy who will build a giant gothic cathedral that takes 100 hours.

I like to start somewhere fresh, build a wooden cottage (we all have our style of construction) and go on local quests (find mine shafts) and collect resources.

That means I usually get bored and abandon the game, and pick it up again every time there is a new patch. That said it is fun when you have  server with friends.

are there any quests now... anything like that in survival mode? i havent played in a long time... while it was still in alpha i think

It changes it quite a bit. Or you could try out Technic mod packs. http://www.technicpack.net/

I am shocked as to how fun and addictive this game is. I tried it out on a whim. I always do hardcore mode so the fear is genuine I think thats what makes the game fun to me.
