Hi guys, i have downloaded spiderman the web that binds but i can't seem to find a shortcut to start the game. Also i have noticed that the file's name was spiderman patch so my suspcion is that it's just the patch not the whole mod. Anyway, it was the only file that filesonic, i think, had with the name spiderman of it. I' ve heard it's a great mod. Anyone can help me with this? Maybe it's my bad.

:ffvstr: spyder. I think its name is the webs tha bind.

Well, if it's for :ffvstr:, then the shortcut properties for the mod should look like this:

"game_folder_install_directory\ffvt3r.exe" -game mod_name -log

So, if your game is installed here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Irrational Games\Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich

and the mod's name was "Web," then the shortcut property for the Target line should look like:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Irrational Games\Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich\ffvt3r.exe" -game Web -log

and the Start In line should look like:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Irrational Games\Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich\Web\..\"

Make sure that you follow the format of the lines exactly

Oh, well, actually, if you only have the patch, then you are missing almost the entire mod.

So the shortcut won't help at all, I'm afraid.

According to the Mod List, the mod you want is here:

Spider-Man: The Webs that Bind (http://www.mediafire.com/frp)

That's the problem, though.

Only the patch is available :(

Ouch, guess I should have checked first. Sorry Jim.

I was doing a search on the wayback machine right before work and found the original mod site. There were 13 hits for th Spidey mod over the years - didn't have time to check them all but the ones I did check the links were dead - I'll try to do a full check when I get home.

Edit - checked all the hits with no luck. here's the link to check out the info on the mod and what extra downloads are needed to run it. If you don't hear from anyone, you might want to try Dana  - I think he was part of the site and may have a backup of it.

Well it seems i have to add EZFX while i already have Production FFX pack. Won't that be a problem if i merge two different ffx packs. And if i recall EZFX has an auto-installer which makes things more difficult since there aren't any dats to merge. But the real question is, does EZFX has any fx that P.FFX doesn't?

Why no one thought to contact FRP/FRP2 is weird. :P I just happened to land upon this thread by chance, so lucky you. I reuploaded that mod a minute or two ago, so you should be set to download it now. I have no idea why it was no longer uploaded as no one has touched the backup site since it was created.

You shouldn't "have" to merge anything with the spidey mod, as it's already pre-merged with ezfx/ffx and should come with any custom FX not included in either module. If done correctly, merging doesn't hurt anything and ezfx (and ffx) DO, in fact, come with dat files. Depending on where you tell EZFX to install, it overwrites your older .dat files, which is why users are cautioned to create backups whenever they've made modifications and such.

PFX, which is on FRP2, is all new fx, so it shares nothing with either FFX 1.3 or EZFX. It is, however, built on top of both ezfx and ffx 3.3, so if you already have those files installed, then there's no merging necessary.
