Totally belongs here, Sam Raimi and all that. The movie is amazing, basically I hate CGI heavy movies that rely on jump scares, but this is by far the best CGI heavy movie that relies on jump scares that I have ever seen. Every few minutes you are assaulted by some inventive and terrifying imagery.

When a lending assistant for a bank denies an extension on a loan for a poor gypsy woman just impress her boss, she ends up the victim of an ancient gypsy curse. After that her life is a complete nightmare, constantly finding herself slapped around by spirits and attacked by horrible images. The movie is PG13 but somehow it is very scary, gross and incredibly funny... we were screaming and laughing like teenagers the whole movie.

Has anyone else seen it?

I haven't seen it, but I do have a question:

Is it Horror scary or Horror gore?  I prefer to be scared than bored by gore.

I'm the same way, I really dont do "torture" movies and stuff. Nah, scary all the way... and a little gross but not in terms of blood and guts, think insects and slime which is of course pretty funny.

So yeah, this movie is all about the Boo! You always know that something is going to jump out and make a lot of noise but it always comes from some direction you dont expect, causing you to jump. Imagine that you are expecting to see a horrible face in the bathroom mirror or from behind the shower curtain and instead a monster bursts out of the toilet... that is the way this movie feels. You scream and then you laugh for a few minutes.

I went in hoping it was better than I hoped. I was disappointed. The CGI wasn't that great and the constant sound scares just aggrivated me. It went from kinda being a japanese horror film to a Evil Dead movie about halfway. It wasn't bad, just wasn't good. It was meh.
Long live Slaanesh, Prince of Pain!!!

It's honestly not that great of a movie. The comedy isn't funny enough and the horror isn't scary enough. The story is incredibly simple, and every character seems borderline retarded.

That being said, some sequences are fantastic (old lady attack, graveyard, some slime moments) and it's neat to see Raimi go back to this sort of thing. Hopefully he'll try again and get better. But forget that CGI stuff.
